Thats an amazing review, Pippi, no wonder you're rushing about with hardly any time to post on here. Keeping a roof over your head is the main thing, of course - so I'm glad the gardening job feels so good, I'm sure there's people around you who'd be really thankful for a local experienced gardener with qualifications.

Take it easy, wave to your oh for me - I'm off out today, so see you soon.

  • Hey chaps ta

Off to plant perhaps 1000 willows or perhaps only a chunk of them tonight - I'll get willow planters arm - pick up cutting, push through plastic - move 50cm, pick up cutting, push through plastic, move 50 cm - pick up cutting............LOL you can just see how that will go eh?

Got a few nice ebay orders today for cucumbers tomatoes and house plants - amazing what happens when you ACTUALLY list the stuff you've got ready to sell eh?
And a repeat order for someone who's bought before - which is nice :)

Off to do at least 2 hours at the garden and home to list more, get more plants ready to pack for post tomorrow - I only pack just before I put into the post.

Cheery you're little babby plants went today - not many - but if you want more just shout

    keiss - hello !

KC it was a bit of a brain dump wasn't it - if I can pay the rent I'll be happy.

Oh and great excitement is that I'm 'talking' with a web designer later in the week to get my own little site constructed and up and running :) how cool is that.
Almost as exciting as a polytunnel ready to put up soon as can after write up
Writing slow today - ferltiliser yuk - I'm not great at stuff that makes my head hurt. and more about climatic exposure which I'm still confunded by but getting the hang of (sort of) being here (I reckon) is similar in many ways to growing things half way up a mountain.

Except we don't have any mountians, its cos we're up in the frozen north with pesky sea breezes.

But, I've enough references to back up my madcap explaination.

    :)

    back later aligators!

  • why thank you me dear - blog will be linked in somehow - I do like a plan.

    I'm back

I've planted - wait for it, I know you're excited to hear - 27m of willow cuttings - 8 cuttings a mtr - ta da - took 1 1/2 hrs with sorting and tidying up - I reckon I'm 10m an hour to plant cuttings - oh dear - now I'm depressed - 7.5hrs to plant the rest of it!

Hey at least I'm on time budget

Waved in by co-op (the only supermarket in that town (stromness)) and got 3x 20p nice garlic flat bread, 3x revolting meat big pies for 20p (protien for the hens) yuk, but value from a protien point of view and some crusty bread for us :)

Off to update money spreadsheet :)

And work out what I'm supposed to post tomorrow

    HI VL :)

  • Pippi - that's fantastic! I'm just so glad you have put them to such good use - and winging their way all over the Uk means you are greening/flowering the UK - bit by bit - yay to that!!!

By the way, well done with all your work and paying bills etc - especially as I noticed the high price you are having to pay for your petrol/diesel. I know this is partly because of where you are, but none the less, it's an added expense that you're dealing with. The eco/greenie bit of me agrees that we all should journey mindfully in our cars, but that doesn't mean that sometimes it isn't a PITA juggling act - bit like trying to make sure the oven is full if you dare put it on in order to make best use of the electric! Fine, but then you have to make pastry, bread dough, cake batter and you've just realised you've only 3 eggs.........................

Hope you've a great day planned.
