Liking the sound of the gingerbeer and a jam session. I am off to the Arts Centre tonight for a classical music concert Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov (sorry spl) very excited and the tickets were only £3.50 each. Not quite the Liverpool Philharmonic but I will survive!

Chainsaw - erm - be careful?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Can we have a blog post with pictures? :rotfl:

Wow! I'm reading, I am, pub sounds great - and at least ginger beer lets you listen, with no problems in the morning.

Bargainous tickets :D And live music is live music (unless it is year one violin or bagpipes )

One of my neice's graduated from Liverpool Uni and it was held in the Philharmonic Hall. Love the pub across the road and a very nice restaurant on the corner - from memory not very MSE but it was a celebration :D

Ooo Maty, The Royal Philharmonic is THE most beautiful place. I used to go most Thursdays in the season. £10 tickets - great. And the Philharmonic Dining Rooms Pub is another favourite (not sure what all the fuss is about the mens loos other than original victorian bits). I used to go to the greasy Joe Cafe just down the road opposite for a curry. Oh how I miss my Thursday nights in Liverpool. I dont miss anything about my home town but I do miss Liverpool.

I agree I love live music. Tonight is the Aberystwyth Philharmonia Orchestra so a step up from year 1 violin and I am sure that it will be great. I have been spoiled though by the proms and the Liverpool Phil. I will try not to compare.

And there speaks a connoisseur of men's toilets...

I am - used to manage pubs and so had to clean them regularly!!
The Phil Dining Rooms are spotless but they do still stink thanks to the original Victorian fittings!!!

My niece loved Liverpool so much she stayed for 6 years :D Think we had our celebration lunch at the London Carriage Company which is just down from the Philharmonic Dining Rooms. As she was (still is) training to be an architect it was right up her street! We did get a photo of the mens loo's but didn't go in there :o

I love live music and theatre but I am a bit more eclectic I think - brass bands, jazz, musicals usually. Just a shame it costs so much a lot of the time. We do have a bi-annual music festival on the local moor which is rock and pop one day and classical the second. All free, so I take myself off with my deckchair, book and picnic both days and quote enjoy it.

    That sounds cheery Maty!

I spend lots of time at live music events - usually for free as official Rock Star Girlfriend :D Mind you, not usually sophisticated classical things - more back room of pub type stuff :rotfl:

    Morning Pip, cup of tea?

Maty, I love all kinds of music! That local festival sounds right up my street too. Not enough of that going on these days I say. I am lucky here in Aber because there are lots of different kinds of music things going on through the year. I especially like sitting on the prom listening to cafe jazz which is one of my favourite kinds of music. if money were no object I would open a jazz cafe/dinner club I think.
