Thanks very much Gill and Pippi you both made me laugh out loud at your descriptions. I will start chatting. Now in egg cartons on windowsill in downstairs loo so I will keep you informed. Chillies - thats the other one :) !

Lovely day here and a whole day off work so lots of decluttering going on today.

Pippi, lovely to see a bit more of your stripyness, you've reminded me i need to get my spuds chitting, they're still in their bad doing it all by themselves but i must sort them out. Did mention it to OH but nothing has happened so i will sort it out tonight ish.

I have to confess that we never bothered chitting spuds - left 'em in the bag until we were ready to plant then threw 'em in. :D

Sounds like a marvellous amount of productiveness going on over here - I've done a bit - got herbs (parsley, purple & ordinary basil, Tarragon) Spring onions, mixed leaves, parsnips, baby turnips, garlic and radishes sown on Sunday and dragged one of our old mini poly-tunnels out to cover over some of them too so fingers crossed that will encourage them to stick their heads up. Seeds are a bit of a mixture - the parsley seeds expired in 2001 but were a sealed packet so we threw them in and hoped for the best. They looked OK.....

Nope starnac, not working on the south wales trains :rotfl: universities out today too (or some of them - everyone out on Thursday I think). I'm only cheerful about it because it means a day off :D (unpaid, of course, and really I should be standing on the picket lines or something, but it's all about pensions, and I deemed it more prudent to look after my future by investing in the garden :rotfl: or something :D)

Pippi - can you dig up and move a magnolia bush, or will it thoroughly object?? Will I be able to do it in the next week or two?? It's about to flower, but the flowers only ever last a week or so, so can I do it after that?? Please?? :D

Quite dragon  Fortunately I've only been working full time for 3 months, so haven't got used to full time wages yet, so can afford to miss a couple of days, but it's not like that for everyone
