Pippi,
I was just reading an article in this months House Beautiful about a woman who gave up her antiques business in London and bought a house in the countryside. She now runs a B&B but also makes her own chutneys and jams and sells her homegrown produce etc. The article made me think about you and all the things that you do. I was thinking that you could maybe write a piece for that magazine and get them to photograph your house etc. I bet it would go down a treat. Not sure if they pay but it could promote your seeds business etc. Interesting people always get a look in for these magazines. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Hey Pippi, just noticed that you have coriander on your list of seeds. I am looking to buy some (plants or seeds but not sure how you would get a plant to Hertfordshire!); are you selling them? Does it go through ebay or something?

Gongrats on all the jobs. Wish I was up to being a working gardener again, but with my dicky back, that has been scrubbed permanently. Yup, 500m hedging sounds a lot!! Where are the 65 trees going? Somewhere sheltered I hope!!!
Off to sit in a comfy chair now...everything's sore atm.
DS's birthday tomorrow...18...how did that happen?! Still have to wrap his pressies...may need DH to help.
Night, night all.

Hiya pippi :hello: hi everyone
Good news about getting the hours you wanted :T Yay. :T
Do you mind if I ask you a v basic question about my spider plant???
I'm not v experienced with plants and just don't seem to be doing this little cutting I got any good. At first I got loads of little black flies flying around it, which I heard was because of over-watering it. ...then I maybe didn't water it enough and now sometimes when I do water it the water just kind of sits on top of the soil for a bit and doesn't even soak in/through to the drainer tray. And the leaves look really dull.Surely this is not difficult
How often should I be watering it?! It's on my desk at work and the office is usually 29 deg C (no one seems to be able to fix the air con and the sun shines in so potentially a greenhouse!)... Any ideas?
Also, someone told me that putting used tea leaves on the soil is good for plants! Can this be true?!?! I know tea does me some good so kinda makes sense...:rotfl:
Sending you a big hug from Sheffers :grouphug:
