Morning! Hope you are all still firmly on the Earth!
Unix I really hope your OH sees sense soon - although if he's often like this, is he really 'the one' to start a family with?
Congrats Dr Cheery! :jSo pleased that all the hard work was worth it! :j:j:beer:
I have to tell you guys a funny thing (well I hope you think it's funny, and not just disgusting; I couldn't tell this to many people).
A few months ago I bought a pot of double cream to go into a recipe, but then changed plans meant the recipe was never made, time passed, and the cream got forgotten at the back of the fridge. Then it was rediscovered but was past it's 'best before' date, which was Sept 9th. Well I couldn't bring myself to throw it away as it wasn't long past, but then no occasion came up to eat it, so it got left there longer again, then I thought I really ought to throw it away, but didn't want to put the unopened pot in the bin as the council have started a special food waste collection and for that you have to remove containers etc so I would have to open it, but I couldn't quite bring myself to do it in case I found something really horrible, so more time passed...
Anyway yesterday I finally decided I had to do something as this was getting silly, so I peeled back the lid and found.... clotted cream!! I expected the worst but it wasn't sour or nasty at all, I've been eating it with wedges of gooseberry upside-down cake and it's lovely, just like the real thing! :T Maybe I've accidentally discovered a no-effort DIY clotted cream method - just buy regular double cream and leave it in the fridge for 5 months! :rotfl:0 -
Buongiorno chums, blimey it's quite windy down here, not quite 82mph Pippi, that sounds amazing! Yes please to the sheet on how to get to your lovely place, I'm in a real pondering mood, wondering whether I can afford to get through this month and save a bit towards a lovely trip up to meet you, Peedie, the chickens and if they're around, everyone else in Stripeyland in the summer. Feeling pants because I am struggling and have been told repeatedly that I will be getting a good annual review but that won't equate to much, if anything, in my pay packet and the cost of everything is going up by the second
But, on the positive side, I have a wonderful DD who is the light of my life, a house that is messy, disorganised but warm and solid and my parents wouldn't let us live in a cardboard box if I run out of money totally, lovely friends who are rallying around both here and in RL, helping me get better and now MrA who is just fabulicious and quite frankly bonkers to put up with my recent mood swings!
Having moaned about being skint, it's a bit foolish to confess that I'm going out to dinner tonight with a bunch of girlies and it's probably going to be shockingly expensive.....but it should be a lovely evening and the food is guaranteed to be awesome0 -

Phew Pippi that wind sounds horrendous - talk about batten down the hatches. xxNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0 -
Hee hee - the thought of a Peedie with ballast hanging off him made me giggle! :rotfl:
Getting blown about enough round our way (Newcastle-ish) so can't imagine how bad it is on the isles!“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

hope the wind settles down soon Pippi, not nice if you have to be tied down when you go outside.
Thanks for all the advice on how to get to stripey land, one day we will make it, i just love the idea of going via the sleeper train, though i'd already started panicking that i wouldn't sleep, the bed would break, do i put night clothes on etc so i'm sure it wouldn't be a good idea for my sanity.0 -
Lt one day I hope you enjoy it too
