  • I have never seen staff in Mc Donalds assemble burgers without wearing disposable gloves.

That's what I thought. I know one branch of MacDonalds in the town was shut down due to health and safety issues.

    @ kazwookie - Whats EHO?

Moan, moan, moan. They can't win, can they? Complaints if their fingernails are too long and grubby, still complaints if they bother to keep their nails trimmed and neat. Really, some customers are just never satisfied.

I don't care what their finger nails look like, I just don't want to find it in my food!! Think that is a pretty basic request.
  • I found the end of a fingernail in a jar of Nutella once... after I'd put it in my mouth  It wasn't mine, it was huge, like a big man's finernail... I ended up with a stomach bug for 3 days, during which all I could taste was Nutella repeating on me.... needless to say I've never eaten the stuff again!

I never did anything about it which I regret now, so I'd defintely say that you pursue this. At the very least you deserve an apology.

I don't think it's impossible for this to happen - if one of the staff members was picking at their fingernails it could have accidentally landed in the toppings, or it could have been a deliberate joke. It may not have happened in the store either, it could also have ended up in the gherkins on the production line.

Hey- I've got a feeling she was being sarcastic, I wouldn't be offended.

Back to the matter at hand- that is truly minging. I bet someone had one of those half hanging off nails that you get sometimes and it just dropped off. Very surprised that they weren't wearing gloves though. Maybe someone flicked it off earlier or something?
I would save offended object, pop it in one of those tiny see through bags, write a letter, print it off and send it recorded delivery to mcdonalds complaints dept. with a copy sent to the health people at the council.
    Good luck!

On a side note, I found a shard of glass in a box of tesco mini doughnuts intended for my brother the other day.

I found a snail in a beef burger, when I went back the girl said, "That's fat," I said, "I know it's eaten half the beef burger."

You could have sent it to CSI New York, they would have told you who it belonged to, what school he/she went to, who their friends were, what hobbies they have, what car they drive, what music they like, and what they were wearing at the time of the incident.
They would put the finger nail on a piece of glass in the lab, press a button and a face would appear on the computer screen, then in a matter of minutes they would bring them in for questioning.
    They a bloody marvellous.
