Just trying to make a payment from the gf's account to mine as she owed me some money (don't worry, she's in the room with me & said it was fine). £302 to be exact.

Anyway, go to hit proceed, only to be greeted by the above quote.

What are they likely to ask her? We do the 1k cycle per month. They wont have noticed & are clamping down are they?

Even if she said it was fine, it's still not. Her online login details are for her, and her only. She doesn't have the right to delegate her access to anyone else, you or otherwise.

But, for your main question -

I had my access suspended when I tried to make a payment to a new payee from a computer that I've never used before. I shouldn't have been surprised that this rang alarm bells. They aren't there to quiz her about her account, but just to go through security and ensure that it really is her making the transaction.

If you want to hurry them up a bit, you can call them on 08456 02 00 00 (for find a cheaper number on https://www.saynoto0870.com).

I did this, they put it through straight away, and told me to wait an hour and then try again. It worked an hour later.

Happened to me a few months ago when I'd initiated a good few FPs in a very short timescale.

However, and this may be the bit you want to hear, they reset my access within 24 hours and without calling me.

I managed to lock myself out of mine this morning got a call this evening. The guy just asked if it was me who tried to log in, I explained yes and that I entered my password in caps. He asked me a few questions about my account, last transaction, the name of my employer, just general security questions, and he reset it there and then. Quite painless really, Im sure you'll get it sorted. I only opened the account a few days ago, and transferred quite a bit of money into the account today, which probably didn't help!
Debt free and staying that way!

    Thanks for the feedback.

I know her details are her details, and mine are mine, but we're not anal about it & trust each other. I know there's the whole what if scenario, but no. And a computer doesn't know whether it's me or her entering the details.

But still, thanks for the help. Will see what they say when they call.

Try it again - when I do it, there are two:

    0113 285 1332
    0113 285 1888

It's all done now, but to reply to the above...

I did get those numbers, but nothing under the "Freephone" column. I thought freephone would be the ONLY freephone number? Had never seen an 01/02/03 number before??

For future reference, this is the cheapest way to talk to them...
