Recession was two years ago. House prices didn't crash and there's nothing now that will cause a fall.
Prices will stagnate, fall in real terms. People will buy, prices will pick up again in time. Same as ever.
It's all over. Has been for ages.

Ive found that Spamish and Sibley are all too happy to start off a thread, and will rant at you when you put your viewpoint forward, but the second you provide some evidence and justification they disappear. I cant help but have the feeling they have no reasoning or intelligence behind being bulls, other than they own property.Never mind bulls evaporating from the forum.
Old Spamish does seem to regularly vanish from threads, though only when the discussions get interesting.
Heres how it goes
Ham / sib: House prices will rise. Ive been right about this for the past 4 centuries
Everyone else: I think they'll fall
Ham / sib: Your just bitter and twisted because you rent, hate your landlord and you work in McDs, earning nothing and so will never buy
Everyone else: No. I have a good job, I like where I rent. I just think house prices will fall coz of x,y,z
Ham / sib disappear and start a new thread
PS - I have nothing against people who work in McDs - this is what was genuinely said by one of the bulls.
PPS - when the ghoul gets involved, his arguement is usually,
ghoul: im a professional in the industry. House prices will rise. Look - forex have said the Haliwide will annouce big rises therefore im right. You all suck
Everyone else: ITS PREDICTED AND FOREX ARE USUALLY WRONG
Ghoul disappears until next forex prediction.0 -

Yes, I'm sure a bunch of new university graduates entering a job market over-flowing with the last couple of years worth of unemployed university graduates is bound to send house prices through the roof
Even better, we're talking about them starting to do this in less than 2 years! Which absolutely means prices won't drop before-hand due to.... phenomena known as 'future price magnetism' (Invented by Hamish in Dec 2010).Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. So the BBC didn't have a clue that the World Cup 2018 host was being decided today when they aired their programme accusing the whole panel of being thieving liers eh?
That's scuppered any chances we had of bringing in another 3bn to the economy and getting the country back on its feet.
Good news doesn't sell papers.
Today at 3pm the BBC headline will be 'England Fails to Win World Cup Bid'. Much more newsworthy.0 -

So your suggestion would be to ignore the theiving and lieing, just focus on the money it will bring?0 -

My opinion is that it would be have been more sensible to not have made the accusation that these people were perhaps implicated in wrongdoing in some way until afterward, if that's what you mean.
Taking the decision to broadcast a message that you think they are thieving liars so close to the date of the vote clearly points to the BBC trying to derail the process to serve their own agenda. it's impossible to draw any other conclusion.0 -

Well, I don't agree it's impossible to draw any other conclusion. That's pretty naive.
Waiting until after the bid is sealed would lead to other, in my opinion, worse acusations.
Basically the BBC would have known about this behaviour. Waiting until you have won, to reveal afterwards what you knew, is basically no better than what FIFA were accused of.
If we didnt win it, and then the BBC decided to air what they knew, they would have been seen as poor losers, with an axe to grind because we didn't win.
If we did win, and then the BBC release it all, they would have been accused of covering up until the deal is sealed.
The one thing we do have in this country is open press. We are one of the few countries that this sort of investigation could be aired, without influence from government. If we can use this to prove our integrity as a country, then thats a good thing as far as I'm concered. At least our country didn't partake in theiving and lies, as you put it....which quite clearly, you would far prefer it if we did, so long as we benefit from said theiving and lies.
On a final note, I would love you to tell us what the BBC's agenda is. What do the BBC actually have to prosper from if they did "ruin" our chances? What's the BBC's gain exactly? Viewing figures for one programme? It doesnt sell newspapers, it doesnt sell advertising, so what's in it for the BBC and their apparent agenda you seem to perceive them as having?0 -
am no longer a bear nor am i a bull. im somewhere in them middle wanting order from this chaos.
i;d be happy if house prices returned to 3x earning potentials over a long period as opposed to sudden 'shocks' the current 0.3% fall is roughly on track. Inflation will erode it futher.
THe people who have a house and paid more than later will have had the enjoyment of their house for 5 years+ while the savers will eventually be able to get on the market... and the BTLers.. wont BTL anyymore but will have secured their investments through the savers renting from them. Ultimately everyone will be a winner (in a sense).0 -

Naive? These are the people that covered the Labour party conference in full and then, the very next week, threatened a news blackout during Cameron's speech.0
