Nothing like a loaf of homemade bread for the frugal is there. Cinnemon and raisen loaf from the BM is a favourite in our house. It's fatal for my hips though... and I can't say no

What is it that your shop sells, newlysingle?

I'm off to Christmas 'market' on Thurs (if snow booooogars off) I doubt they'll be any bargains though as it's held in a posh hotel.

Still a nose would be nice.

can i ask how are you finding sharing the house with your hubby? i ask this as i have literally just split from mine and we cant afford to sell just now ... he is moving into his mums but that is only temporary ... but it could take a while to sell this place so we need to maybe live together again and i am kinda dreading it

Cinnamon and raisin sounds delicious ~do you have a recipe?
I make jewellery so my shop sells a mix of my own things and some others too (mainly UK designers & lots of unique stuff)
Not sure if I'm allowed to post a link to my sales shop ~
but you can see some photos of past creations here on Flickr. :)

Enjoy the Christmas market (Mmmm mulled wine!)

Really difficult ~ everything is almost like he never said anything....he's out more with "the lads", but when he's in we watch telly together, laugh at the same things, eat together....
Apart from my ever growing pile of moving out boxes there's no clue ~ it's all very surreal.
Are things amicable with you both? It must be difficult for you and I truly sympathise with your situation. <<*hugs*>>

things arnt un amicable yet ... but i have a feeling they will be soon enough ... i ended it and he is hurting (as am i ) he has sent a few texts today that were very much as an attempt to hurt me more .... but i aint letting him so i batted those back ...

i dont know if we could live together tbh ... we have done so for 22 years and i dont know if we can do so as a non couple .... i think i would have issues if he went out with the lads all the time too ... and he would have issues if i went out with the girls as well... and if he chose to bring someone back home then i think i would flip

i dont know what the future holds just now but i was interested to see how you were managing ... i take my hat off to you ... you are a very brave and strong person
  • Hi NewlySingle
I saw pics of your jewellery on Flickr, they look lovely. I would love to do something creative for a living, what an amazing job you have! It must be really hard work to run your own business though.

Hope everything is going well with you, good luck with it all.

Elentan - I hope things are better for you soon, I guess there's a few discussions you both need to have e.g. agreeing that the house is to be sold and putting it on the market (not a great time to sell but they're cheaper to buy too so it's all swings and roundabouts....)
If you end up living together, the "agreeing not to bring anyone back" is another difficult one. I wish you luck and strength.
Re being brave and strong ~ I count myself very lucky that I have a creative side to channel some of my feelings into (that and a strong Faith) writing bad poetry helped a little too....

I wrote this soon after the "event"
Embarkation (dedicated to my supportive creative friends)

From dark night and ashes of despair,
    Creation ~ brings new hope.
    Glimmering embers of life's travels,
    Which cannot be extinguished,
    Flare with light

    Fellow pilgrims on this road,
Forge new faith in faltering heart
Bathed in wisdom, warmth and love,
    Illuminate the scarce trod path.
    Remnants of a fire rekindle,
    Phoenix like ~ dawn arrives.....

It's about remembering you've been there before and that often the "darkest times" are just before the most positive. I am so very blessed that I have great friends and family. I'm blessed I found this board (just when I needed it most). I'm blessed that there was a flat I could afford. Yes bad stuff happens, but it's not bad ~ there's always a glimmer of hope if you look hard enough (it's helps get me through anyway :o)

Thanks Muffin, I appreciate you taking the time to look at some of my work :A ~ yes it's hard work sometimes but I'm lucky to have a lot of customers who comeback again and again :)

Things always get better, things change and you get used to that change, sometimes even embracing it. A new start and different direction in life can be exciting. We just have get over the feelings that trouble in our lives brings. Once we're at the acceptance stages and can have some sort of closure then we can move on x

Miche ~ You are so right!!!

I forgot to post this and my Diary too (DOH!) - for those who like a little hart warming message each day you can subscribe to StoreyPeople e-mails for free (free e-greetings too under "Fun Stuff") :)
    Yesterdays very apt message was:
Most people don't know there are angels whose only job is to make sure you don't get too comfortable & fall asleep & miss your life.
They come with cute little drawings too ;)

    Tuesday 30th November:
Went to co-op and spent £5.19 (classed as a "spend-up" since I've MSE'd my ways lol)
Co-Op have two big packs of chicken thighs or legs, 33% extra free + 2 for £4.00 added to that 2 parsnips, an onion and some green beans (reduced from £1.49 to 52p!).

Made a chicken casserole using some carrots from last weekend and the other veg. Plus roasted all the chicken legs to use in salad / packed lunches other meals~ oven on once (I'm learning fast I am thanks to the Yoda like guru's on here).

Was so hungry ended up having 4 chicken legs with the green beans & veg for dinner (they were ready first). Still got 4 chicken legs left and tonight will have casserole - YUM!

Also spent £47 on mums Christmas present (Salvation army food run). Will be extra good on food shopping this week to keep overall weekly £££'s down. :D

    Wednesday 1st December:
Homemade bread was a little stale so toasted some and had it with poached egg for breakfast. Normally miss brekky and am starving by 10.30 (it's now nearly 12 and still replete from my 11 am cup a soup)

When I'm peckish later I have soup and chicken legs, much nicer and cheaper than the soggy sandwiches and snacks I'd have had while frittering.....

Looking forward to my casserole later too (saved some green beans for that)

  • Yesterday I had scrummy casserole and stopped in working on Christmas orders ~ total spend £0 but had to turn the heating up as the workshop was freezing :(
Loads of work done, hubby was out and didn't come home so BoB cat and I had a night in (though he woke me up at 5.30 mewing in my ear for food :rotfl:)

This morning more of stale loaf toasted with poached egg...I think it's one of my fave breakfasts! Still have some casserole left so heading for another £0 day :D

  • Friday 3rd December = £14.13 mainly sale food but £5.50 was on BoB cat.
Thankfully can still count it as a £0 day as used my co-op membership savings
/points to pay for the food :j

BoB really deserved his kitteh food as he'd worked hard helping me pack christmas orders :D
    BoB-packing.jpg
I'd told BoB that I needed help with the Christmas packing...
After mewing something which I interprested as
"a fair days work for fair days fish" he decided to lend a paw.
Not so sure he liked his uniform ;)
    humbug-BoB.jpg
    BoB chillaxing after helping me
(trying to convince me he workezd really hardz)
