Boots meal deal price increase

Tesco have just increased the price of their meal deal from £2.00 to £2.50.
£2.00 seemed like a very good deal for a standard lunch of a sandwich, a bag of fruit and a 330ml orange juice drink.
This means that if I continue to shop there, I'll pay over £100 more per year than before Easter.
I've no idea how they can justify this.
And to make matters worse, the deal itself doesn't work on the tills at Grt Portland St tesco - I've twice had to wait 10 mins to get a £0.28p refund.
I've written to them about this - I'll post my response here.

If you pick the right sandwich, crisps and drink, you can get the food for about £2.48 so just under the £2.50 price tag until it has been sorted. It is a PITA though and it has driven a lot of customers away.

Used to get quite a decent deal at Tesco - £1.70 sarnie, 60p coke and 50p crisps for £2 but have certainly been put off it now it's £2.50. Will cycle the extra mile to Lidl next time, me thinks! The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Not just the meal deal Tesco put up 25% this week, 2x4pts for £2 milk offer disappeared, now £2.50, up 25%.0

The superdrug meal deal has crept up over the past year too. Started at £2.49, then £2.75, then £2.79 now its £2.99.0
