Boots meal deal price increase

I noticed today that Boots meal deal prices have gone up from £2.99 to £3.29. I'm in Yorkshire and I know that they charge £3.29 in some London stores and airports but I'm just wondering if the price increase is everywhere?
I've started having Boots meal deals as a treat every now and again:o I usually bring my own unappetising sandwiches to work every day. Boots sandwiches are nice and I love diet coke but only get it every now and again, so Boots meal deals seem like a good value lunch deal/treat for me. Can anyone recommend anywhere else that is good value but has nice sandwiches and does a lunch deal?

Superdrug is quite good, not as much choice in the offer as Boots though. Its £2.75 for any sandwich, any drink and any packet of walkers crisps. If the drinks are buy one get one free the offer still works as well.0

Huh, the Boots meal deals are £3.49 in London! Thought it was the same everywhere! That's the only price I know them at lol.0

I got charged £3.79 in London today for one, seems to have gone up in the last week. Sainsbury's one I think is £3 so might start checking out what they have as there is one in the station near Boots! At least the fish fingers are still frozen, that's what I keep telling myself (Truly Madly Deeply)0

I was miffed when Sainsbury's stopped stocking pastrami and pickle sandwiches.0

I wrote to Boots customer services about this. Here is the response I got:-
Thanks you for contacting us with your concerns about the price of our Meal Deal in our UK stores. I am sorry that you feel this has increased excessively.
This is disappointing because we're working hard to give you great value for money through the very best combination of quality and price. A very important way that we do this is through the many special offers that we run - including our regular '3 for 2' and 'buy 1 get 1 free' promotions. We also offer the UK's most generous loyalty card, with our Advantage Card giving back the equivalent of 4p for every ?1 spent on almost every purchase - often rising to 8p per ?1 during some promotional periods. We believe this adds up to some fantastic value overall.
We haven't made any change to the price for 5 years, and this is not a decision we've taken lightly. We've had to increase the price due to the rising cost of ingredients.
To continue the great Meal Deal offer for our customers and to enable us to offer such great choice and quality means that we must increase our prices as follows:
? ?3.29 standard UK
? ?3.79 London and Airports
? No change in ROI, still 3.99 euros
Inevitably we do need to increase individual prices from time to time, but we constantly listen to customer feedback to make sure we're offering the best value we can across our stores as a whole. I have therefore forwarded your comments to our product team who will monitor customer feedback generally on this item.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know how you feel about this. If I can be of any further help please call us on 08450 70 80 90.0 -

On average the deal only saves you 20p or so, I realised the other day I didn't actually want a drink with my lunch and just got a meal deal pasta salad thing and the crisps and it was £1.70, saving 30p0 -
i still think its good value if you work it right, £2.80 sandwich, innocent smoothie £1.90 ish and large bar of chocolate or bag od sweets £1, £5.70 in total making a saving of £2.41. but obviously if you buy a £1 sandwich, a bottle of water and a packet of crisps or standard chocolate it's not such great value, and yes i do work for boots!0
