Is there is an Aldi store near to where you go to boots? Aldi have just opened quite a big store ( ex woolies!) in Liverpool city centre and you can get a salad for £1.29 / sandwiches approx £1 / a drink from 29p / a piece of fruit from 25p. Good value if you forget your lunch I think! ;)
To infinity and beyond - but mostly to Tesco!:D

Yeah I bought it the other day and it's gone up. Still worth it though. I usually get Vitamin Water (£1.79 I think) sandwich £2ish and a pack of crisps for snack for up to a £1. So still worth it!

And it's not bad if they haven't had a price increase for 5 years. So I'm not too fussed by it!

i still think its good value if you work it right, £2.80 sandwich, innocent smoothie £1.90 ish and large bar of chocolate or bag od sweets £1, £5.70 in total making a saving of £2.41. but obviously if you buy a £1 sandwich, a bottle of water and a packet of crisps or standard chocolate it's not such great value, and yes i do work for boots!

Watch for drinks on BOGOF as they can be used with the meal deal 2, so you pay meal deal price but get 2 drinks!!!

It has been £2.99 for at least 5 years and the cumulative inflation rate from Nov 2005 to Oct 2010 is 10.68 % which is 32p /2.99 so its an overdue and reasonable increase + there's an improved choice especially in pricey pure fruit drinks, fruit and sushi - so as a lunch option its still reasonable for bought stuff. I eat the 'main' and take the rest home-the fruit smoothie drink for my DS and 'pudding' for DH - but have cut down a lot and usually take homemade to work now.
Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)
It takes 3500 calories to lose a pound in weight. Target 13 lbs weight loss. 18.5lbs lost 2nd May - 28 September.

Hi, thanks, there isn't but Liverpool is my home town and I will bear that in mind when I'm back there! I can't keep up with the speed that new places keep opening up there!
  • Thanks everyone. I didn't realise the price has been the same for five years until a few people on here mentioned it. I suppose I can't complain then!

On a different point...the big Boots in Manchester city centre has now got a Waitrose concession in it so you can't get a usual Boots deal from there anymore.:( I couldn't even find a sandwich I could eat in there! I am a fussy eater though...

In Manchester City Centre, get yourself over to Gabbotts Farm in the Arndale Centre (Church Street entrance) and fill yer boots on meatballs or other hot, cooked meat!
  • Thanks everyone.

If you pick up the Boots mag (free to advantage card holders) there's a coupon at the back for triple points if you buy a Christmas sandwich. There's also a coupon about halfway through for 20p off the meal deal if you include any Pepsi, Drench or 7Up. Expires 28/12
