Boots meal deal price increase

On average the deal only saves you 20p or so, I realised the other day I didn't actually want a drink with my lunch and just got a meal deal pasta salad thing and the crisps and it was £1.70, saving 30p
how are you saving 30p, if you are getting less items? if Boots sell drinks for 30p then your reasoning would make sense, but as they dont, return to go, do not collect £200!
as already pointed out, if you choose wisely you can make quite a saving. triple sandwiches are included in the deal, most are £2.80+, add in chocolate bar at 60p+, and a smoothie and youve saved more than the £1.70 you spent on your moneysaving exercise
also, i dont think it has been this price for the last 5yrs, its more like 3yrs, as i remember when my dd was little, they swapped over to the green and red deals at that point (you paid more for one that had bigger sarnies/more drink choice), so the £2.99 general price must have come in after that

I believe a snack is up to £1.25 so you can have a big bar of dairy milk, a bag of haribo ect which makes it even cheaper:cool:0 -
I just went for my Boots lunch today and it's up to £3.29 in Glasgow as well so it must be everywhere! I'm disappointed that Boots feel they have to do this in a time of recession - it's hardly like they need the money, but after all it's only 30p so not the end of the world!0

I still think £3.29 is pretty good value, especially if you pick up the more expensive items. But what I miss is the old deal where if you bought 5 Meal Deals in a month you got the 6th free. That was a real incentive to buy lunches in Boots and I certainly stopped buying so many when they ended it. Probably a good thing though, as I now try to be a good money saver and take my own sandwiches into work.0

was never a 'good deal' anyway, the crisps and drinks individual prices are wayyyyyyyyyy inflated... plus the sandwiches r tripe.
try Pret.0 -
Used to get the boots meal deals when i worked near town and ok we know its still not cheap and you can make better by making at home but i have an idea:
Ok heres an MSE challenge to you all:
Beat the boots meal deal.
Has to really be a national chain and cannot be the 'make your own at home' option.
Just an idea for the millions of you who are working in town/city centers for a quick good value lunch.Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.0 -
Sainsburys do any sandwich (not wraps, baguettes, salads) with either Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Tropicana, water with Walkers, Snack a Jacks or fruit bags for £3. You can do this with the TTD sandwiches which cost £3!
If you buy a £1 egg and cress, coke and Walkers, you are only charged for the individual price for them0 -
Poundland
A sandwich, packet of crips, choc bar and drink all for £2
ok, the sarny flavours arent that adventurous, and the fillings are more like puree, but if you are only looking to fill an empty tummy, then its not that bad

me again,
or again in Poundland, buy 5 sarnies, a multipack of crisps, and a 6 pack of water, and you have enough lunches to last the week, for the princely sum of £7 (£8 if you feel you need to add in a pack of choc bars too), so £1.60 a day, if going with the choc top-up

Co-op do a meal deal: selected sandwiches, salads or sushi (must have a sticker) and selected snacks (includes some yoghurts, walkers crisps, pots of fruit and other things) with a drink for £3.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
