  • Well if he or she fell on her backside on the ice while walking she might be ending up in hospital on IS and claim for compo incase she has hurt her backside.

I could understand if she was working as its worth the money, but otherwise i dont think it is, do you?

How did you get on OP?

I am due to sign on tomorrow.

I live out in the sticks. My garden is about 4 acres of land, and there is THICK THICK snow everywhere. (A big deer walked past earlier but I couldn't get my camera out in time :( )

The snow is the thickest Ive seen it in about 5 years of living here.

It is quite a long way to walk to the job centre.
I HAVE done it before, in normal conditions, and it takes a little over 2 hours.

Should I wait until tomorrow morning to ring up and explain my situation?
Or should I ring today, considering that all of this snow isn't gonna disappear overnight.

I'd definitely call today and explain the situation. They may ask you to call again tomorrow but I think it's best to give as much notice as possible.
Perhaps phrasing it as 'at the moment I'm surrounded by very deep snow and I'm worried that I may not be able to make it to my appointment on time tomorrow, what are my options'
rather than simpy saying you won't be able to make it.

I was due to sign on today. I could get to the job centre, the bus stop is just across the road from my house, and buses are running, albeit with delays. My concern was getting there to find out they were closed anyway, because just like other businesses people are obviously going to struggle to get in to work.

I finally got through at about half past 9 to be told I didn't need to go in and everything would go through as normal. I've just emailed them asking for this in writing just incase anything goes wrong.

I really suggest ringing to check your local job centre is open before venturing out.
