My son was 3 years old when he started to sleep throught the night and even then it was not every night. He is now 7 and finally sleeps through lol0

DD1 5wks and DD2 6wks. (Touch wood) still great sleepers (I'll be up half the night now lol). They both go upstairs at 6pm-6.30pm. DD2 is 19mths old and is straight to sleep until 7am ish, DD1 is 5 1/2 and plays in her room til 8pm then lights off and sleeps til morn.0

I however didn't as I was up checking on her every half -hour! She was 10lb 5.5 oz when she was born and exclusiviely breast fed!!!

I'd be worried about this. My midwife told me that if a newborn goes more than about 4 hours without a feed they could end up weak with hunger and won't be able to feed properly when they do wake up.
Not sure about that one - hopefully goingsenile's baby is no longer a baby so she won't have to worry.
My DS slept for 6 hours his first night in hospital (he was born by c section in the morning)
The midwives didn't wake either of us so assumably they weren't concerned - I certainly didn't notice any feeding problems or weakness with him after that.
DS continued to be a good sleeper and prob first slept through (7 hours +) from about 12 week.
My DD was a bit later nearer the 5 month mark0 -
My eldest daughter (now two and a half) slept through from 8 weeks.
My youngest (now twelve week) has so far slept through from 9 weeks, fingers crossed that continues :rotfl:
I think I've been very lucky with my kiddos sleeping habits0 -

As long as your baby is a healthy weight ie over 5lb when born theres no need to worry . Most babys sleep for longer for thes was 4lb 3 and first few nights , childbirth tires them out too.
My ds was 4lb 3 and was fed by ngt for the first 12 days of his life , with me bf him also . he fed every 2 hours on the dot . Babies will wake when they are hungry , but most bf babies will sleep feed as well . and a 10lb baby has enough excess fat on them to be quite happy . my ds had nothing on him , hes 3 now and still a skinny minx although he eats me out of house and home.ONE HOUSE , DS+ DD Missymoo Living a day at a time and getting through this mess you have created. One day life will have no choice but to be nice to me :rotfl:0 -
My daughter is 11 and I have been reading this with interest - I remember how desperate I was to get her to sleep through the night.
Well, in those days they could spend ages in a rockatot so I used to sleep whilst rocking it to try to get her to go through the night. No joy. Didn't matter what pattern I used - any of the lavender oils, massage, breastfeeding, bottlefeeding, nice music, baths, it really didn't matter, she slept when she wanted (or didn't).
She was about 3 and a half. lovely!! Now she's 11 - do you think I can ever get her out of bed in the morning!!!
It's so important to our mental state to get sleep, but looking back, I think they either do or they don't, not much, imo, to do with what you do and when you do it, more like luck of the draw. She didn't sleep in the day either from about 6 months :eek:Forever I will sail towards the horizon with you0 -
ooops i clicked 0-3 but my son actually started sleeping through at 5 months
at 2 months he slept from 11pm till 7am
then at 5 months he slept through from 7pm till 7am

Eldest was 2.5 years old when she started sleeping through all night. Youngest is 20 months old and still waking up.
