With regards to food, what about iceland/farmfoods?, they always have great deals on frozen party food.No one said it was gonna be easy!0

I used to use paper bags from the sweet shop for my party bags and i put in Freddo bars 10p each and you can Buy exactly the right number. I would avoid coloured sweets and lollies at this age. Avoid people who want to go in fo the My bag is better than your bag games-they are saddos-the main thing to the kids is having a good time -and the choccie of course!earn what you can, save what you can, give what you can :hello:0

you could make some origami animals for the party bags? https://www.origami-club.com they have loads of diagrams and animation showing you how to fold. I know my little one loves cats and dogs
)
Hobbycraft sells cellophane but they're a pricey place if you know how much you need I can send you some I buy huge rolls for my business.
Good luck take care and keep smiling - my parents cancelled my little ones first birthday party( so we went on our own to paint pottery place and printed his hands on a plate
) fingers crossed we can do his 2nd !

My niece is 3 1/2 and when my sis held her 3rd birthday party she asked the mums and dads coming along to bring a toy with them for the kiddies to all share.
And she bought 2 packs cheap balloons, blew them up and then chucked them in the middle of 15 plus kids!!
Kept most of em' going for about 2hrs chasing them around the house!!
Very best of luck to you and Happy Birthday to your little one!!!

I wouldn't worry about party bags for a 2yo party - at my daughter's last year most kids weren't even bothered about the balloons & cake. So long as theyhad the chance to play together they were happy. As other posters have said, there's loads of easy & cheap food you can do to feed the adults & 2 year olds will be happy with some finger food - sandwiches, cucumber sticks or rounds, cheese cubes etc and some buns - if you can't make them (I can't as my oven is so unreliable) lidl & home bargains have v cheap fairy cakes.
Most of all, try not to stress too much - it's easy to get into such tizz over a party that you don't even enjoy it. Great memories are made from spending time with friends & family, not bought.£2 savers club - £62

as an adult i would not expect to be served food at a childs party.
at 2 all they really want is something like cheese spread / jam sandwiches.
frozen cocktail sausages are in tesco at the moment on bogof, and you can combine this with frozen sausage rolls (£1.70)..
large bag of crisps (aldi / lidl do these).
home made flap jacks are cheap to make
carrot sticks if you really want to splash out you could cut up cucumber sticks
jelly
value ice cream.
fairy cakes (lidl do a multi pack which are cheaper than making them from scratch (approx 70p for 12) and my son reckons that they are scrummy)
value squash
i've got that down to £6.40ish on food using tesco online as a guide price but i'm sure that you get that even lower using more value brands etc.Give blood - its free0 -
Well hello peeps, u may remember my post saying that I had only £20 to spend on my little girls 2nd birthday party, well you guys gave me loads of fantastic ideas so I thought I would update you on my progress so far.
Have just made my party cups for the children to take home with them, I basically used a plastic pint cup, wrapped up with cellophane and ribbon, all of these items I had already so these were free yay!
inside a put cars for the boys and hair accessories for the girls. And sweeties, crayons and balloons (courtesy of Motherof1) in all of them, also inside I wrapped round a thank you message from my little girl, so I could also tell who they were for .
anyways in total these party cups cost me £3.00, which consisted of £1 for 6 toy cars, £1 for assorted hair accessories and £1 for bag of mixed lollies and stuff, all the rest I had already< i thought they looked pretty cool!!
So next mission is the cake, I am going to make a hedgohog cake, have all ingredients already apart from the chocoalte buttons, which were a pound so if all goes to plan thats the cake sorted. Does anyone know how long a sponge cake would last covered in buttercream?
Bye, will update after cake!!0 -
hmmmmm,I also hve no idea on how to post a better picture!?
