I'll stick my neck out here and say that along with everything else you see advertised on any 'shopping channel' I'd put serious money on it being a total waste of money and won't do the job. From self-guiding paint edgers to no-wonder-it's-wet-foam. They look great on the telly and you just know it isn't like that in real life.
  • Yes I have tried them...

I think however my double glazing it too thick for them and I need to purchase the "super strength wizard" :rotfl:

I now use a step stool, microfibre cloth and some of the stuff that puts a film on your window for 6 months and makes all the dirt "slide off".

Honestly I wouldn't recommend anyone buys them - if it sounds too good to be true...

yes...i too decided not to upgrade the super strength ones

now, does this magic film stuff for the windows really work?

see, i can't help myself......i'll just go and empty my wallet into the bin...again. :o
  • I also bought the window wizard and I think it works but it takes practice to get used to it. However, it's quite hard to do the corners.

Don't buy one unless you are prepared to spend time to practice and get used to it.

Do you work for them?

With the set I had, it was certainly not a question of not putting enough practice in, it was that the product did not work!

It would just about stick together on my double glazing, but the second you tried to move the the thing in any direction, it the outer half would fly off and try to kill the cat, or break my patio.

As I said, for their demos they must have the thinnest double glazing on the planet :D . Either you do too, or you have had some success using the single glazed version, on a single glazed window pane. I have no single glazed windows, so cannot try this version.
  • I see that the latest version for double glazing should work to a thickness measurement of 28mm.
    Has anyone tried this?
Does anyone know how to measure the distance "apart" of your double glazed windows?
  • My gran had one of these yonks ago (at least 20 yrs) & it worked on her windows and I think they were double glazed. Just seen ad for them on Sky but they seem expensive. But I want them. Anyone had good results yet or found them cheaper?

I'm sure if you wait long enough, they'll end up in the £1 shop.;)

Bought one for double glazing today. Noticed there are a lot on eBay but by the time you add on postage it comes to over £20.

I got mine from Woolworths and have just tried it out on my grotty windows.

Verdict: It works quite nicely. Just make sure they are soaking wet.

They did leave some streaks, but no more than our last window cleaner left (in fact, a lot less).

    Tip of the week:

Add about 1/2 a cupful of white vinigar into the soapy water as this cuts right down on streaks.

    2nd tip of the week:

When washing windows, don't do it when it's sunny. That guarantees streaks.
