You should have done research before you left.
Ignorance is not an excuse, hopefully you will have learnt now!0 -
I have a suspicion that some of these answers were posted by Tesco Mobile (or other service provider) employees.
How can I "check before I go" when no-one (and certainly no-one at Tesco Mobile) was able to tell me what constitutes 1MB of data using an iPhone? It is hardly transparent pricing.0 -
Typical response from someone who doesn't hear what they want to hear. Seen it a thousand times before on this site.
1MB of data is 1MB of data. There are an infinite number of ways 1MB could be made up.
You say all you did was check email and facebook... what phone do you have? Was it using data in the background like most smart phones will do?0 -

I know this is techy and not necessarily something you would know how to do, but I discovered it on my iPhone last time I went abroad:
If you go into "Settings", then "General", then "Usage" it will tell you how many MB of data you've used. Click the "reset statistics" button to go back to 0.
By using this feature, you can see exactly how much data you've used in a given period of time. In fact maybe it's worth doing now, so you can replicate the kind of things you were doing and measure how much data it takes up..?Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
As an experiment, I just spent 1 minute on Facebook, which didn't include looking at any photos, and used 120KB.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0

"Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you."
