But it is comparable, cost and specification wise to the Desire.
dunno about cost
its slower,
the screen isnt near as good(i cant emphasise enough how much its better on the desire)
its just gone 2.1,the desire has been 2.2 for ages
the keyboard isnt as good
the interface isnt as good
its bigger than the desire
i dont like the flappy usb port cover0 -

its slower,
Older Desire, yes, it had AMOLED screen, this year HTC cut costs on the Desire and started using the same super TFT screen as the xperia.the screen isnt near as good(i cant emphasise enough how much its better on the desire)
Trueits just gone 2.1,the desire has been 2.2 for ages
Subjective, I think the x10 had a better keypad, but agree the Sense UI was nicer.the keyboard isnt as good
the interface isnt as good
So is the Galaxy Sits bigger than the desire
Again, subjective, better than no cover.i dont like the flappy usb port cover====0 -

They don't.
You have 3 mid range pay as you go phones listed, you had a top end contract handset. If they can't give you a Galaxy S or or an Xperia x10, then negotiate a reduction in your line rental if you have no other choice but to accept a cheap model.
Having looked through the phones on virgin website and realising there is absolutely no choice, I've reluctantly settled for the htc wildfire.
Ive managed to reduce my tariff to £20 for 600 mins unlimited texts and data plus one month free.
I think I would've been within my rights to cancel the contract but I really wanted to stay with virgin as my family are all on it and we get free calls etc.
