Yeh I hope so. I'll know in a few days when the £1 reaches there (or not). Why do you need Barclays account? Why can you not transfer from wherever your current account is? Did I miss something? The main sum I have to transfer to PO is in a LTSB eSavings account, which I use as a temporary store for pending transfers (such as the long non-banking period over christmas and new year). I'd have to close the account to get the interest, but I might as well let that rest there until I close that account when the bonus goes in August 2011. As tomorrow is the first proper banking day, I'll do the moving then to PO. Then once I know the trial move from Barnsley is OK I'll do that smaller amount once clear of a weekend.0

I need the basic Barclay's Bank Account so that I can access their on-line banking to see my ISA account - you need the basic bank account to be able to access on-line banking with them.

is it just me or it it taking absolutely ages for deposits to clear[/U?
I transferred money on the 17th December (and it arrived in on the 22nd December....but it was only yesterday I could transfer money back out when the funds finally cleared.
I realise it was Christmas and New Year but they had well over 5 clear working days to clear in between that time. If it's usually like this I might have 2nd thoughts about using this account now....0 -
Generally, I have found the transfer times acceptable, between 3 and 5 days. If you are willing to accept this and plan accordingly then things should be fine. 17th Dec was a Friday, so there would have been a couple of days inactivity due to it being a weekend.
As far as possible, I try to avoid Friday transactions and try to schedule them for the beginning of the week.

yeah I understand that....it was just very frustrating to log in and clearly see my money sitting in the account since Dec 22nd...but then not being `cleared` until January 11th....
I just transferred some out...so hoping I wont have to wait as long!0
