Confusion still reigns then:
Apparently PO original info (from UK call centre) was incorrect according to their Irish call centre (Katie.Today): "There is daily no limit to online transactions to your linked account; checked with my supervisors. £15k limit only applies to phone transactions. "0 -

I can confirm soulsaver's findings. I did a large on-line transfer to my nominated account without any problem.

It's far easier to ask a question and get someone else to do the work rather than actually do some research themselves first - as that requires "effort" on their behalf.
How obnoxiously rude, especially to someone who has just joined MSE. :cool:0 -
we signed up with the post office online saver as recommended on mse page, for some reason you have to send money across before you are sent an account no. Secondly we were transfering our money across via debit card. when we got to the end of the transaction a note came up saying that they were unable to accept payment at that time, please try again with a different card or payment means. so we tried again, same thing, and again, rang through to visa verified and to our bank, nothing wrong there, they said that the post office were not asking for the money to be transacted across to them. Finally after talking on the phone to someone who knew nothing, we got through to a person who explained that you can only make payment using a debit card to the maximum of £10000. There is nothing in the small writing - terms and conditions saying this, i know, i read all through them.
It then turns out that each of the transactions for each attempt had gone through, the fraud office put a stop on our card and this morning we received 4 letters with all the accounts we have 'opened'.
All it needed was for a alert to come up that the max by debit card was £10000 , instead of prompting us to try again with a different card or payment means. Instead we have all these accounts to now close.0 -
I opened a Post Office Online Saver on 1 Dec and made an opening £1 deposit by debit card which shows on the account as deposited 3 Dec. Today I wanted to move a bit in and seeing that 'pulling' it from the account by DD takes several days I thought I'd use my debit card. There is no message about how long this takes. So I did it and the message afterwards was it would take 3 working days! Not immediate or even next day. Hmm. Not happy, unless other's experience using Debit Cards is that it is in fact faster.0

I fund mine by direct transfer from Barclays Online Banking. It takes 2 days to appear in the P.O. Online Saver. That's tolerable and might actually be quicker than a debit card or DD.0 -
Thanks. I emailed them via the website to ask if I could do that. No reply. Now that I know from you it works that way, I will do that from my LTSB account online.I fund mine by direct transfer from Barclays Online Banking. It takes 2 days to appear in the P.O. Online Saver. Just use the sort code and account number they provide when the account is opened.0 -
I have a number of payments set up on my LTSB account to utilites, other banks, building societies etc. To send money to the PO account I have the account no and sort code as you say so that can be added, but the first field LTSB ask is 'Name of Recipient' and I never know if that should be something like 'PO Online Saver', or whther it should be my name and perhaps 'PO Online Saver' in the reference field.Just use the sort code and account number they provide when the account is opened.
Actually, I realised there's an upside to debit card transfers. When I made a £100 DC transfer on 21 Dec, it arrived in the PO account on 23 Dec, but my current account was not debited until 24 Dec :j0 -
Just for information - the internet banking site of the Post Office has been down since yesterday.
Your login procedure will take you so far and then it will report a "systems failure"
