Advice on pvc tablecloth for new table
Comments

Hi there.
If you are looking for reasonably priced oilcloth, I have bought 2 lots from The Range (a chain of shops in southern England). I got a spotty light blue Cath Kidson type oilcloth for £2.80 a metre for summer and last week I bought a more "grown up" cloth for Xmas. Its a lovely silver grey flock style design and it was only £3.50 a metre. They have lots of different designs.
As an earlier post suggested, Dunelm Mill is good and there is also a shop called Fabricland (which has an internet site), which does oilcloth from about £2.99 a metre.
Happy hunting!0 -
I like the spotty one. I too need a pvc table cloth as I have spent the weekend getting biro off of my lovely table, which my dad made. I wasn't impressed!
I think the check ones are a bit naff looking (sorry), only say that as we had a similar looking tablecloth in the 80's.
Thanks fot the range tip shoppingnoodles, one just opened near me so may take a look.0 -
I have a beautiful table which is always covered up. Soooo much easier than cleaning the glass top, or washing and ironing (eugh) linen. I go for colourful, cheerful designs and spent hours choosing the cloths in John Lewis...
I would advise you to see them in person, as the thicknesses vary, as does the print quality.
Enjoy your new table!:wall:0 -
i love this one from next.

We have a table similar to that one - also bought it from Homebase. Unfortunately, just after the year warranty was up, we noticed that the veneer was lifting at the end and we reported it to Homebase - they did not want to know! We still have the table, but can't wait to be able to justify getting a better one. (Oh, and for most of that year, we had had it covered up as well)0

Thank you everyone for your suggestions and ideas, i've also been onto several other suggested websites and now off to view in person at Next, John Lewis and Dunelm Mill, to get an idea of thickness etc. So with measurements and two toddlers I'm heading off, wish me luck!
Just trying to find a promo code for the homebase website before i order, the FURN 15 expired today, typically!0 -
Gingham's nice and classic, but traditional, and if the rest of your room is neutral, it might border on 'the same'. I think the large circles one is the most trendy, and would spice up the neutral decor.
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

I've found the ebay shop that I bought ours from. It's a bit bright mind!

They have loads of other different patterns though and the prices are very reasonable. The cloth is fantastic quality. It's been used for about 18 months now with a variety of food and drink spilled on it, and it still looks like new. Here I go again on my own....0
