Advice on pvc tablecloth for new table

Options
We are seriously considering buying this

http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=20001&partNumber=5942228&Trail=searchtext>CUCINA+4+CHAIRS

But with two toddlers we would need a pvc tablecloth. Our decor is neutral on the walls and wooden laminate vinyl effect on the floor.

I've been on ebay and seen a couple of designs, but me and OH are seriously lacking in any artistic/design qualities. So if this is your strength, please can you advise us what to buy.

Either

or just plain brown

Ideally i don't want this to date or go out of fashion too quickly.

Advise or help would be greatly appreciated, my finger is hovering over the buy button for the table, but i'd like to have a pvc cover lined up ready for use the day it arrives.

Thanks in advance.

I like the first one best.

Oil cloth is fabulous with little ones. We have one on our solid oak table. Just last night a glass of apple juice got accidentally knocked over and it mopped up so easily.
Here I go again on my own....

We have an oilcloth on our oak kitchen table. It's great stuff. We got ours from John Lewis. You might get a better idea if you can see some on the roll. For a 5ft table it cost about £22. This is the one we have. http://www.johnlewis.com/119068/Style.aspx?SearchTerm=RecentlyViewedList

I love the oil cloths and have used them for years. I usually buy a cream ones though and have a runner/mat down the middle to change the colours when i fancy.

  • Well, obviously I like the gingham one. :D But the retro spotty one is fab too.

We have a couple - one of which was off a vinyl roll of an atlas print with animals on it which is great for the kids when they're splashing paint around, but we do have a red gingham one too. :j

  • If you a Dunelm Mill near you, they had a sale on oilcloth last week
(probably still on might be worth a look)

I had a look in there but they're a lot thinner. Maybe they have different kinds in different stores, but in the one that's nearest to me they're more like vinyl than the proper oilcloths.
  • I like the spotty one.

We've had a Christmas one on our table for the last two years, who cares really, the kids like it. It comes off if we are doing 'grown-ups' eating.

We have a plain kitchen and have oilcloth tablecovers all the time. I change mine about three times a year. At the moment, we have this one.
