I've got a dispatch email for the Playful pup saying the quackshot game is oos & will be refunded within 10 days.

Came home to a card from DHL saying they had tried to deliver a parcel. Checked the tracking numbers and they match the ones from Tomy so are being redelivered tomorrow! Fantastic! I ordered 2 so have arranged to swap 1 with a friend who also had a duplicate xmas gift for her son.

Hi, we are so sorry that the site crashed and left so many people disappointed, there were so many visits to the site all trying to buy this game and you all saw the speed of the site.
The stock allocation also stopped working which is why so many of you got cancelled orders once the game should have shown as out of stock. You may also wish to review the confusing cancellation e-mails that you sent out to your 'customers'.

It confirmed that the item was being cancelled:

We were unfortunately unable to ship the following items:

... etc ...

It then goes onto state:

Your order should be delivered within 4 working days (2 if Express Delivery) of being placed (UK Mainland).

Good of them to register to acknowledge whats happened. Think alot of websites wouldnt do this They just need to update their site to cope with all us mes's

they have just sent me a reply to my email this morning, very thorough in all fairness...

Dear (name removed), thank you for your email.

I do apologise for the problems we had with the website on Tuesday, the volume of traffic caused the site to crash.

In normal circumstances, the stock system on the site allocates stock on what is available so that items that can no longer be fulfilled are not placed, this is done at the initial basket and then at checkout.

In this particular instance we had 6x the usual traffic to the site for a product that has been offer for a while and not sold very quickly. We were unprepared for the sudden interest and sales and unfortunately the site could not cope with processing the stock.

We are very disappointed to have to let down any customers. A full refund will be issued very shortly – this will not take 10 days.


We try our best to provide customers with the best possible service and I’m sorry you were disappointed.

Think that is very good of them really.... Unfortunate that I didn't get the items, but I did order other things which were delivered this morning... shortly after the part cancellation email.
