Why are we as customers always on the losing end?
Will the price hike improve their services? Train delays, breakdowns, etc....
:eek:0 -
We knew this was going to happen weeks ago. Was in the news then too.

No, but when you put your delay replay compensation form in, you will get more rail vouchers or if you demand it money back

I think this is too high an increase for my daily commute which is already expensive, often late and always overcrowded. Like many, my wages aren’t likely to rise by this amount so I have to swallow these costs myself just to get to work. This is why I’m going on strike.
What I’m proposing is a passenger strike day on Friday 17th December . I call it TRAIN FREE DAY.
It’s not easy but see if you can find an alternative method of transport, be it by bike, car, bus or walking. If that’s not possible consider working from home.
By protesting in large numbers perhaps we can make a difference and let the government and rail companies know that we wont just accept price hikes without any improvements to the service.

you know your train journey now is more punctual then it has been for over 20 years. There has been massive investment in the railway and that costs money.
I could go on but that wont matter to you because you think you have all the answers..
enjoy your walk to work in the snow.one of the famous 50 -

Strange, I thought newbies couldn't post website links, as it's a MSE forum anti-spam measure?Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
And yet they keep telling us they want to encourage the use of public transport, save the planet and all that ......
Sod the planet, I'm going to be switching to my car in the new year. I've done the sums, it's actually going to be cheaper for me ( and I'm not just counting the cost of petrol in the equation, I've done the whole "overall cost per mile" shebang ). Plus it's more convenient and comfortable.0 -

I dont have all the answers and i certainly wont be able to walk to work either (Bristol to Cardiff) i will be in the car.
Don't get me wrong its still cheaper than driving over the Severn Bridge every day - i just feel like its a quiet protest at the large rail increase.0 -
London Midland have performed incredibly well in the last 18 months regarding performance and punctuality.
However, it still doesn't justify the rise in prices when they run an appalling schedule between 8 & 9am.
I get a Southern train from my station to Watford at 8.24 in the morning.
If it's cancelled (as was the case yesterday) there is no train to Watford between 8.11 & 8.58.
However, there are trains at 8.34 & 8.53 which run direct to Euston, have 8-12 carriages and are only ever half full!
Yesterday I ended up on the 8.58, which stopped everywhere afterwards, including 2 ADDITIONAL stops, yet it was only 4 carriages in length and was full by the time it got to the next stop. There were still 5 more stations to go before I got off, let alone before it got to Euston.
I'm in favour of the 17th December, except I'm already off for Christmas by then.....0 -
is it worth renewing a season ticket at the end of December? Does anyone know the exact date in Jan that the prices are going up?0
