EDF - £100 Welcome Bonus
Following further written representation and discussions, I am delighted to pass on the following statement from EDF's Press Office.
EDF Energy confirms it will not look to claim back the welcome bonus in cases where a customer has remained with our supply during our Winter Price Freeze Guarantee period. The clause had been included to protect EDF Energy against any potential abuse of our special offer.

But this is the end of November. So they are choosing to give away £180 to customers who sign up for two or three months on their old prices. As idiotic as Scottish Power. Most suppliers get abuse not applause for including discretionary penalties.0

Maybe they are confident that their prices will still be competitive after the rise.. haha wishful thinking that. But I expect they are confident that most won't bother to make a change again so soon.0

Ignore the trolls backfoot. Whenever any possitive points are shared there will be people out there to put the dampers on it. I went with EDF. £100 bonus and £80 cashback. Even if they put their prices up after march the £180 would easily make up for it.0

I'm no troll, I'm one of the hopefuls who has been waiting for the definitive response for weeks. Doesn't stop me being a tad cynical though. Got a letter today saying my electricity will be with them in two days time. Just waiting for the gas account to catch up now.0

Ok, your a tortoise:rotfl:0

The beauty is that we now have the flexibilty to make our choice after the Price Freeze ends without any worries about the £100.
It's very good news.:j0 -

There is no lock in on a standard tariff. Have you registered with SP for supply, as you are in a deemed contract with them otherwise?
Once registered, just switch via a cashback site (currently £80 bonus with Quidco) and click through to EDF to switch to Online Saver V7. That way you'll get the full £180 saving. The switch will take about 4-5 weeks, so you'll be on SP standard tariff until then.
The offers closes 30/11, so you've got a week, assuming they don't pull it early. No free lunch, and no free laptop

26th October. Just 4 weeks ago. Hope the gas goes quickly as they say we get charged at the standard tariff until both gas and elec are with them.0
