Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
Morning

Morning all
Oh BB I remember the days of the littlies getting up at silly o'clock.
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, breakfast eaten & fish fed. I'm still knitting every chance I get to fulfil my orders, I should get paid for 2 today & will use the money to put petrol in my car. I've sold a book on amazon too, woohoo.
Ribs & rice for tea tonight, the ribs are in the fridge defrosting.
Have a good day everybody.
Hugs Hester

BB - Love your smiley.
Absolutely NO os going on here today as my neighbour told me last night that my roof is falling off the house - and having checked the insurance I'm not 100% certain that we have buildings insurance. HUmmmmmmmmmmm So am panicking a fair bit until I get the chance to speak to a customer services bod. Luckily I have a freezer full of food that we can fall back on. why do things like this always happen??!!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -

Good morning to all - and sorry about your nasty shock, esmf73.
My 'getting back on the OS wagon' day yesterday didn't quite go to plan - I hadn't organised a packed tea for myself when I was going out straight after work, and ended up buying c**p from the corner shop near my work AND going to Caffe Nero for coffee and a muffin AND eating c**p when I finally got home. I was all stressed out and when I went to bed I couldn't sleep
Anyway, today can only get better. I've still not go a meal plan or enough food in the fridge and freezer to be doing No Spend Days yet, but I'm focusing on catching up at work (after a month of doing the bare minimum while I revised for my exam) and then I'll focus on catching up at home.
Have a good day, everyone xx0 -
Morning my lovlies

Cold here but looks like it might be bright, so will shove some washing on, got two loads almost dry yesterday :T
DD had her interview for college yesterday, and got on really well, the woman that interviewed her said she came across really well, and she would be delighted to offer dd a place :T, dependant on her exam results.
Did not get in till later last night, but I have left the dinner in the oven, and OH was dishing up, dd and I were frozen, so nice to come in to a warm dinner.
Today I need to do the usual tidy through, washing, hoover etc, I also need to wrap dd's and OH birthday presents, and order my car tax online.
DD and I also have the dentist tonight, so a busy day again.
Got a chicken to cook for dinner, think we will have the breast tonight, with dauphinoise pots (oh loves them) and veg, the rest of the chicken will do other days.
esmf, hope you get the roof sorted xxxx0 -
Good Morning Everyone! Bit chilly here too, tho' I am wrapped up in my lovely (feeling - not looking!!!) fluffy dressing-gown and sitting next to a radiator. BB - good advice - I need to find my gloves! Sisiter was warned last evening that house is far from pristine right now, but her visit will cheer us up I hope. I do intend to try to get some HW done this morning, but have agreed to visit DS this afternoon. Lunch will be fridge-based and on the run! Because we'll be stuck in London until after the rush hour (to use off-peak travel!) we'll probably grab something at the station for supper.
Didn't sleep too well and have woken with a headache - nothing to do with the stiff drink I had, of course! So, paracetomol, shower, dress and doggie walk next I think - plus a list of HW tht I can cross off as I do it - very satisfying! Hope everyone has a good day today. Do take care.Resolution:

Dull, wet and overcast here this morning. DH up and gone to work early but not stupid early o'clock.
Dinner last night was very nice, pork chops, mash, carrots, cauli cheese leeks, and gravy. Tonight will be something quick as DS1 has army cadets.
Work wasn't that busy yesterday so we may be in for a busy day today especially as the forecasters are predicting the white stuff at the end of the week (not for this area tho but still puts everyone in panic mode!). Will be using my day's off this week to really get up to date and decide what I'm going to get for the last few prezzies so I can get them when I'm off for a day in a couple of weeks. Need to get some baking done as cakes tins are empty.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning all
It's DRY here:j.
DH off to work, dogs not quite ready for their first walk, so it's time for a nice cup of coffee and a little browse on here.
Flutterby - I got the Rose Elliott book from DD for my birthday and I just love it. I used to have the old one but put it to a charity shops years ago - and then regretted it. Ah well. This one is just great - I'm sure you'll enjoy cooking and baking from it.
Still have the spare bed to sort - it's still got the duvet in the wrong way round.
Need to clean kitchen and bathroom floors and go food shopping. Giving the fridge a clean would be good.
2 library books overdue as they couldn't be renewed and yesterday was so horrible I didn't go. Still, only one day late. Have Aggie and Kim's Cleaning Bible from the library at the moment. Looks a good read but have only glanced at it so far.
Beemuzed - no wonder you needed that glass of wine last night. How is your DS today?
Hope those with poorly tums feel better soon.
Only 4 more sleeps until the Edinburgh meet:T.
Take care all

EDITed to add that I have just read on Mooloo's page that Molly is back in hospital, and is awaiting a lumbar puncture  Hugs and good wishes, and healing vibes for you, Molly. xIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

Morning All
Long time since I have seen two 6 o'clock's in a day. Had to wake up for a 7.45am appointment for a Doppler Test to check the circulation in my legs, good news is it seems they are OK :j:j
Off to the hairdressers for 9.15 am, so just grabbing a quick coffee in between and trying to catch up with the thread, it had a wobble when I was trying to post last night.
Spent yesterday looking on line at Dishwashers and built under Ovens, as our DW is getting past its sell by date, and with the VAT increase looming, trying to decide whether to bite the bullet, and when I was baking the fan (bottom) of the over browns at the back before the front, maybe need to turn it down a little. At least I found out why I could not use the oven floor on the top part as it burnt, but found it is heated from top and bottom.
Still not made a decision.
(((hugs))), Hi-5's, Spoons, to those who need/would like them, especially Molly, and Pen-Pin.
 to all MIA and re-joiners
:bdaycake: to anyone celebrating anything.
Take care - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0
