We had a call from the digital satellite services people before had several over the past year or so, but I have cover from D & G and have been very happy with them, the last call they asked for the Mrs, and went through the usual garb with her, she just told them that she's not the account holder and that we had cover elsewhere. Next time they phone I'm asking who gave them my number because I've never given it, going to take them to task on the phone. Not that I expect to get anywhere but good to keep them on the phone for ages and annoy them!!
Thanks to all the competition posters.

Sat cover is a complete waste of money, if it goes wrong (rarely) then get Sky out for free by saying you will have to cancel as you cannot afford a call out charge.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

No one gives them the phone numbers - as there are over 10 million Sky subscribers compared to 36 million or so households it is a pretty good chance that dialling numbers from the directory will find a subscriber and your wife has now confirmed to them that you have Sky - so it is highly likely your number has been added to the database of confirmed subscribers that these con artists sell on once they go out of business and expect regular calls at least every year to try and get you to change to them. The simplest ways to stop them bothering you again would have been either to say you do not have Sky OR that you are a Sky installer.
