This christmas i'm going to be cooking for 3 adults, 1 child, 2 toddlers and a baby
For starters i'm going to be doing a prawn cocktail on a bed of shredded lettuce and pate on toast.
For main course i'm going to make a turkey crown, gammon roast, roast potatos, brussel sprouts, boiled carrots, roast parsnips, pigs in blankets and stuffing with of course gravy and cranberry sauce.
For dessert there will be christmas pudding and a strawberry cheesecake.Married since 28/04/2007

Starters of Courgette and Potato Soup (from the garden, aleady done and in the freezer) or Pate (home made, in the freezer!)
M&S turkey crown with ham, chipolatas, roasties, carrots, broc, asparagus, garden peas, loads of gravy...maybe do some yorkshires this year.
Not sure on the pudding yet, the kids want to make the most sickly choc butter cream covered chocolate cake but I want to make profiteroles...may end up with both!
:beer:They say that football is a religion, if this is true I worship at the Exacta Stadium, Chester0 -
Starters - how very civilised!
We've never had a starter on Christmas Day. Unless you count chocolate coins.
I am always ultra stuffed after one course and a pudding, so I don't know how I'd manage it!:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0 -
for the first time in the 6 years of doing xmas dinner, dh has decided he wants a turkey  we usually have gammon or a leg of lamb.
there is four of us; myself, dh,ds (3) and dd (2)
we dont bother with a starter, its hard enough trying to get the kids to eat one course as it is!
main will be turkey (need to look how to cook this interestingly, maybe wrapped in bacon or something to add flavour), stuffing, homemade yorkshire puds (only thing the kids are guarnteed to eat because they look like ufo's
),pigs in blankets, sprouts, mash with carrot and suede, roasties, carrots, green beans, broccoli, maybe cauliflower cheese for a change.
from this the kids will eat only the yorkshire puds and green beans. ds will have broccoli and dd will have pigs in blankets.
pudding could be anything! i usually get some profiteroles (dh's) and millionaires shortbread (mine
)from M&S which we will help ourselves to if we want anything else. the kids always have lots of chocolate/sweets in so they can pretty much eat what they like on xmas day to a certain extent. there is always more treats in the fridge/cupboards which mil brings without fail all year round and she goes a bit mad at xmas - so i end up giving a lot of it away. We have 2 courses for our christmas dinner
Roast chicken, roast potatoes, peas, carrots, parsnips, stuffing, yorkshire pudding & pigs in blankets (though this has to be altered for DS this year as he was diagnosed coeliacs and i've never seen mini GF sausages
)
Then dessert is always a very chocolatey pudding with icecream or cream (GF chocolate pudding for DS)SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £2470.95/£1000 (19) £0/£10000 -
forgot to say, i always have a 'ice cream soda' on xmas night. i dont know if thats the correct name or just something my brother made up when we were little.
its basically a dollop of ice cream in a glass and topped up with coke. tbh its pretty disgusting but when we were kids we loved it! i only have it as a mark of tradition (and also the fact that it makes dh feel sick to look at it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)Mummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -

there'll be 5 of us this year, I'm the only one who likes turkey, so the (grown-up) kids have decided they want home made steak pie, with proper home made chips & fresh veg
we always try to have 3 courses, but always pig out on the main & can never manage the pudding, so this year I'm going to start with an amuse-buche sized parsnip soup with tiny croutons & a similarly sized syllabub for afters, I'll make extra so anyone who feels up to it can have more of them
I've also got requests for prawn cocktail as a main course & 'trimmings without the roast' ie home made stuffing, kilted sausages, roast potatoes, veg, loads of gravy etc
so that's Boxing Day & the 27th taken care of
we can never manage more than one meal a day as there are always loads of snacks, cold meats, home made dips & of course the essential bacon for putting on rolls (baps)
Hogmanay I'll do something more special of my choice, don't know what yet though  but for New Year's day I'll be doing a buffet, that way no-one has to eat a lot if they're not feeling up to it
