If it was ebay there is a high chance that they were fakes...."Success is not to be measured by the position someone has reached in life, but the obstacles he has overcome while trying to succeed." Booker T. Washington

I've found Lidl do a razor handle and 20 (yes 20!) twin blades with aloé vera strip for £2.29 and they seem to give a very respectable shave.
The handle looks quite flimsy compared to the big boys but I've never had one break yet and the beauty is every time I go to buy replacement blades - they come with a new handle!
I haven't found anything better yet and 20 blades last for ages. They don't go blunt after 1 or 2 shaves either so it's not false economy IMHO.
Sometimes you DO get what you pay for. A bargain!

So whats the best options here?
Which razor gives the best shave, is cheap, and easy to get blades for?
My razor is in a bad way (Mach3) and I am almost out of blades, so any recomendations would help!0 -
Been using Aldi's 'Excite' razors (£1.99 for razor and blades, £1.59 for 4 replacement blades) for a couple of months. I'd say that Mach3 gives about 10% better shave and it does feel very different to use than a Mach3.
I just got fed up paying lots of money them.0 -
I have also been looking for alternatives to Mach 3 blades ( which I never cut myself with ) and tried the Aldi excite razor , two days in and today the missus said
"you've got a rash on your face "
it's actually a combination of cuts and razor burn despite using a quality gel and after shave balm.
I'll put up with it until the weekend when I'll get some Mach 3 blades , IMO worth the extra for the much better shave , due to the freebies being offered recently I have tried a few razors in the last few months and none compare to the Gillettes.0 -

I'd like to echo Wayne3765's comments on this one.
Having been a Mach 3 user for quite a few years now, I found it always gave a nice close shave without any cuts, but the high cost of the replacement blades was grating, so I started looking around for a cheaper alternative.
I also tried the Aldi razor and blades and found the blades were fine for the first couple of shaving strokes but pretty useless after that, feeling more like it was pulling the hair out rather than cutting it. The end result was plenty of cuts and painful razor burn despite using a good aftershave balm.
Needless to say, the Mach 3 was back in use quick time even given the expense of the blades. I, for one, will stick with the Mach 3.Official Petrol Dieter0 -
I'll be honest here, I use W.Sword Quattro blades and while they are £4for4 / £8/8 they last for ages. I'm in the RAF and have to shave every day a 4 pack lasts me 2 months (Not bum fluff! I have a fairly heavy growth) WSQ are the best, I just cannot use Gillette blades. Give them a try!
P.S. 8 out of 10 there is a voucher on pack for £2-3 off next purchace - I cannot reccomend them enough!0 -
The freebie Titanium one was too heavy and stiff for my liking, and the 5 blade Fusion freebie I cut myself on - it shaves a little too close.
I'm going to stick to Mach3. Easy, quick and pleasurable shave with no discomfort, and the blade really sticks to the contours of my face. I think I'll be a Mach 3 user until they stop making them.0
