Do any blades (other than originals) fit the 'power' mach 3?????

    Many thanks

I tried an Asda one, I think it was £1.99 for 4 sticks and blades and was worth every single penny (i.e. steer clear LOL).
  • I buy Mach 3 blades at my local Costco-
Once a year when they have their "Passport" deals ;)
...and then the window licker said to me...
  • I did a shave test on Saturday am with a new blade in my Gillette (left face) and against the new freebie Titanium (right face) I just received.

    Result next morning? No difference.

Not very scientific. I simply tested the back of my hand on both sides of my face to judge the "roughness". Maybe someone with a microscope, a very small ruler and a lot of spare time can do a proper test:)

I do find the Mach 3 easier to control though as it is flat against the skin.

the aldi ones are really bad..... the For Men branded ones..... I took mine back and got a refund on the blades and crappy power razor that did not stop water going inside it.... also had about 5 cuts to my face, which is 5 more than i usually get......

I got a free Gillette Fusion at a roadshow a few months ago, best shave I ever had and the blades lasted for ages, much longer than any I have tried in the past. They are expensive but over the long run you might find they work out cheaper in the end.
  • I would highly recommend the Wilkinson Sword Extreme 3 disposable razors. They are £2.50 for a packet of four at Wilkinson (bizarrely, they are a similar price for a packet of just two at Tesco) and I can get about ten to twelve shaves out of them before they become too blunt to use. Every so often they sell packs with two extra free in for the same price, and I stocked up last year when Wilkinson were selling the same (pack of six) on BOGOF.

I agree with the guy above who says that shaving is a very individual experience. I find a very distinctive difference between three-blade razors and twin/single-blade disposables, which has nothing to do with marketing or conditioning because I'm a tightwad and would make do with the cheapies if I could get away with it. I only tried the WS Extreme 3's because they were on offer and was struck by the very marked difference. I've tried going back to the cheaper Wilkinson Sword twin blades and they irritate my skin a lot more than the three blades.

With me, personally, a lot depends on the shaving agent used too. I find foam totally useless and get on much better with the gel (not the gel that becomes foam on application, but the stuff that just spreads over your face and neck like jelly). Again, I recently tried a Wilkinson Sword product because it was on BOGOF and it made shaving relatively painless. Having just run out I tried a Gillette gel (£2/can!!!) that lathers on your face and now shaving really burns my skin and leaves a lot of blood spots.
