  • Just dawned on me I am with the Halifax ultimate reward account holder and as I pay £12.50 a month and in return they give me back £5 a month if I pay in £1000 a month, so really costs me £7.50 a month, and I free worldwide family multi trip travel insurance I also receive free mobile phone insurance, car breakdown cover, an home emergency cover plus card protection travel accident cover identity theft assistance and discounts, all in all a good deal.
So I called them about my boiler and they said they would organise something, they did they contacted HOMESERVE!!! but hey got a call within 5 mins and a local engineer said he would call tomorrow. So paying Homeserve is a complete waste of time, I also used this account to insure my new mobile phone, so that alone is a saving and gives me peace of mind, as for the travel insurance that too is a good deal, but with me having a disability, I called them, they offered me full cover to any worldwide destination with my pre existing medical problems for £48 a year, which is a deal. I paid £80 last year with insure and go for european travel only.
Perhaps more MSE users should be contacting their banks instead of paying for these services.

    MSE andrea,
You lot should be ashamed. Have watchdog ever had a go at you lot, if not they also need to be ashamed. The amount of criticism about you on this website alone, should see your customers go down to a precarious level. You are just not up to the job. To think a few years ago I nearly signed up for your services, services, what a laugh.

    No Andrea not you HOMESERVE

I agree and disagree with you Beverley.

When you sign up to something you should read and understand the terms and conditions.

Homeserve dont look after radiators. All they will be is in the event of a leak, they will drain the radiator and isolate it.

My company challenged Homeserve months ago as in the table of whats covered they had a tick against radiators but in the whats not covered - 'repair/replacement of radiators'.

While it seems they may have been misselling this does not mean you have been missold. it seems to me you never read your t&c's.

who covers your boiler now btw???
Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?
  • beverley the amount of money you have paid to have your heating looked after by HOMESERVE should be enough to ensure you are catered for, If you are forever sending for them, well then they can say you are not worth insuring and can terminate the agreement. You must have told them that you will be relying on them owing to your circumstance. If they were not willing to look after you they should have declined your business, after all with a name like HOMESERVE how on earth could anything possibly go wrong with your quest for a reliable heating service.
there are people come on this site
just to smooth things over for HOMESERVE.

beverley look on MSE news on the front page of this forum, they admit to miss selling their services.
Go to Financial Ombudsman Service, to complain. Don't let them get away with it. Get your money back.
