cheap carpet and furniture

This may be a long shot but when I first moved out a few years back I put various ads in the supermarkets along the lines of 'Wanted 3 piece suite and bedroom furniture for someone with no money just moved in - will collect'.

Truthfully, I could have done my house a few times with the stuff we were offered. The 3 piece suite lasted us 4 years and was immaculate!!!

Went on freecycle have enquired about a cream:eek: leather 3 piece (at least I can wipe it down easy!;) ) and also another 3 piece and also dining table and chairs!:rolleyes:
no carpets though and still waiting to hear back-the leather 3 piece is in the same village as me so I could just carry it round to my house-no need for a van!:rotfl: :rotfl:

My mate got her £1 sofa on eBay - cos oyu have to collect big stuff hardly anyone bids, so if you do a postcode search for stuff in oyur area there might well be some good furniture.

I got a lovely wood chest of drawers for a fiver.
