Morning all
a lovely bright frosty morning here and there is a bit of warmth if you are in the sun.
jools huge (((hugs))) for you and your Mum its not been a good year for her and among the sadness she is probably thinking about her own mortality - its so much harder when the person is so far away too- I am guessing that she wont be able to go to the funeral? what about a day out and visit somehwere that she would associate some happy memories of her brother would that be possible? hope your DD feels better soon - a good excuse for some ice cream?
JoJo I am pleased for you that you had such a good day and were calm and had fun with DD - I am sure you will deal with Mother fine - just keep biting your tongue and thinking she doesnt mean it or cant help it - thats what i do with mine - its so much easier than hassle - she still stresses me but it goes away quicker!!! I agree with the rest do not go overboard on your DD's 18th - she has been very disrespectful and caused you grief and unhappiness so yes her birthday should be acknowledged but not celebrated as if everything was ok.
4 Times great to have you with us - re the kids maybe just give them 1 job each per day that you know that they can easily cope with and then in a couple of weeks add another and so on? they are all old enough to be doing loads - evn though you are a SAHM it doesnt mean that they shouldnt be helping and that way everybody has more free time at the weekends etc and like you say its for their own good for when they leave home.
Mudders (((hugs))) hope you feel better soon - hope the stripey hot water bottle is helping!
Dusty aren't you lucky seeing a woodpecker - fabulous!
poohbear :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: I wouldnt be going outside if I knew it was there! Hope you manage to move him along or something!
chazsucks welcome to the thread I will send you a pm to help you in a mo! Stick with the lists as much as you can and you will have a tidier house by Christmas.

Worked out how to use up 2 lots of leftover fish after my reduced pack from Mr T's had 2 big pieces in which was a nice surprise
So making fishcakes with one piece of this and one piece of leftover salmon - just need to add some mash and should make 3 I reckon
Feel excited as I've just provisionally booked a week away in June for me and the dog. Feel brave enough to do this and thought I'd better get in there early to get a choice of the weeks I prefer otherwise probably wouldn't make it. Just waiting to hear how much deposit they need and then all sorted!
Just off to write another 500 words now

Morning campers, from a sniffly cold infested Natty..lol I'm still sitting here in my pj's, but now I have warmed up and the tablets have started working I am going to have a warm shower and see if I can feel a bit more human.. Well that's the plan anyway..lol
Am panicking a bit at the moment as AF is 6 days late, but it could be where I increased my tablets last month. I am hoping it is that anyway. But what will be will be, besides I'm too old for all that malarky..lol
The birds are being very hungry in the garden, as fast as I am filling up their feeder they are eating it. We even put a new feeder in the garden too, so they now have two feeder poles with various hangers and trays on. Mr and Mrs Woody have been down, and Mr and Mrs Dove are sitting on the tree, at the back of the garden, preening each other. It's lovely to watch them being all lovey with each other.
Boddy so glad that yesterday went as well as can be, hugs honey.
juliejim so glad the home visit went well, do you know what sort of doggie you are getting now?
Mollina we have a resident harvest mouse in our garden and every now and again he trys to get in the house. But we have those plug in mouse repellant things all round the house, and they actually seem to work quite well. Maybe you could look at something like that if the poison isn't working. It's also more humane for them as it doesn't kill them it just stops them from coming indoors.
Toots hope you are okay honey, are you not at Cornhill today or has the day changed? Thanks for the PM
Hugs and love to everyone, including Diva, LW, Toots and LL

Does anyone know of a nice tasty corned beef recipe?
I have a tin languishing in the cupboard that I would like to use up. I tried a corned beef hash recipe from somewhere on here a while ago that I wasn't too keen on so does anyone have a nice tasty recipe I could try?

toots, DH and DB have named him 'stumpy' as he has half a tail . I don't go out after 3.30 as he tends to appear at dusk!! We have poison and have called the council too.
You mention sunshine. We don't remember what it looks like, getting on for three weeks since we last saw a bit of blue sky
But we still have our magic lamp

Hiya! [STRIKE]the Christmas tree brings you to the attention of Toots who sends a welcome message.[/STRIKE]
Main thing is to remember that your place didn't get into a mess overnight, so don't set unrealistic targets for yourself. A little, but often:D
