Buffy - you sent the links as an attachment - that's not the problem. Even if I say so myself I'm pretty shoite hot @ loading stuff to PC & things.

I just can't seem to manager to load things to my e-book - BUT I'VE MANAGED :j:jE-book is also charging as we speak - guess what I'll be doing tonight :D

    Thanks again

Just for no reason - I also have a block with mobile phones - stuggle to text & have to pass my phone to other people to change settings - yet I'm also the one in the work that helps sort out the computer issues?

  • Woohoo to being one of your accountant's more affluent friends :rotfl:. I guess we are the same, we live in a small terrace house and the only debt we have is paying down the mortgage. It makes me giggle, I haven't had a haircut in 18 months; a holiday in 3 years and I stockpiled 9p bags of value pasta today but hey I'm affluent :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

As to having all the trappings but no money, the old saying of "fur coat and nay knickers" springs to mind .

Glad Firewalker responded to your post Craftyscholar - I was reading it thinking there's one for Firewalker and lo-and-behold there she was responding :T

Off to track down antihistamine for ds and collect dd from work. Petrol has gone up again - arrgghhhh :eek:

Crafty, you did define your frog yourself in the last paragraph - luckily this is one of the conditions of frog-eating. The frog is the task but you eat it in one go; this means that one ought to develop the discipline and persistence to stick with it till the task is completed to the necessary quality (what this is depends on how important the task is to where you wish to go). How to develop the discipline?

    1) By action - set yourself as a task, first thing in the morning to read what you have written. I find that mindmapping it helps - you get a better idea of the structure of the text and the logic so it is easier to change it.
    2) Develop a set of supporting frogs. One reason why I took long distance running on is that it teaches you patience. When you run far you can't run fast and have to pace yourself. Think about activities that you enjoy but they will develop patience.
    3) Do you fidget all the time? Because I do. So have decided to get into meditation. Develop the ability to be entirely still for period of time.

    Just some ideas.

Ouch - dead centre of the target:rotfl:
    Thank you, Firewalker.
One to print out and pin on notice board - and read and inwardly digest. Yes, OK, and then ACT ON.

Yes I am a fidgeter, not as bad as I used to be, but it's still there.

TSL - yes I thought the same as I was posting it:D

Just checking in after Day 1 of lovely holiday time. It has been rather grumpy around here today. Either I have been biting off DH's head or him biting mine off. Sigh. We will be fine by the end of the weekend. But it is the first day of de-stressing, I have not felt very well today, plus as its Good Friday, we spend the day fasting. Basically, I am hungry... so I am grumpy. On the upside, I have a full English to look forward to tomorrow morning! :D

We have also been experiencing the delights of attempting to put an estate agent's sign up. We have tired everywhere. Hubby has dug test pits all around the place and his archeological excavations have turned up a 1970's road!! Everywhere. So, we asked our neighbour if she would mind us bolting the sign to her fence... and she said, "Not at all, go for it". Bless her. I am going to take a bottle of wine around for her. It is very kind of her!

In other news... the baby blanket for my New Best Friend has been started. It is going to be a patchwork of crocheted squares in neutral colours with crocheted daisies on it. Piccies will be posted when I have finished it. :D

Looking forward to MG's ideas for the next thread...! See you round tomorrow sometime...!

Not eating makes me grumpy too crickett... OH reckons he needs to feed me every few hours for the sake of his sanity!

Spilt water on the laptop... dealt with it on time, but somehow in the cleanup the little bit of rubber that sits on the on-keyboard mouse has vanished. Which is annoying me, as it can't be far away... and the laptop is a nightmare without it. I'll have to dig out a mouse...

I can't have much of a veggie garden myself because a. I'm still only halfway through remodelling the garden, and the bit that will be the veggie bit hasn't been touched (hopefully it will be ready for next year!). But I have delivered my brother's birthday present - a selection of veggie plants in a trug, a wicker surroung for growbags, and some old plastic plant pots, cloches and bamboos that I no longer need. SIL is pregnant again, so won't be going back to work after her maternity leave (only a 13 month gap), so they're trying to economise. And he's taking on night/weekend work as well. Good thing they got a mortgage they could afford on one salary... mind you, they still seem to have more disposable income than me (for the moment) so I guess its a matter of priorities...

I've planted a few things today, and need to pack stuff up tonight as I'm off to my parents tomorrow for a couple of days. I'm also going to get rid of some unwanted books and clothes in an attempt to declutter a little.
  • :oWow to the Fasting. I am having enough trouble giving up white bread and pizza.

I gardened today so am shattered but so chuffed with how the garden looks.:D

I have to finish it off tomorrow and then I really want to move my room round to give myself a fresh start in the final push to debt freeness.

    xx

Where I live we have a company that puts ALL the boards up, I didn't realise that wasn't the case everywhere :o

Enjoy your full English this morning ;)

Sorry couldn't see a new thread so hope I can still post here.....

Marru - Happy Birthday  Hope you have a lovely day today :D

Not much to report at Chez Bitsy, just been busy with kids and husband, in the lovely weather. Thankfully no smog where we live.

Have a great day and hope those of you eating those frogs don't start to croak ;)

Same here, we often see a van full of different signs.

On another issue entirely, I'm sure someone on here uses a halogen oven, maybe MG?
My 'proper' oven is broken and I'm waiting for a part, so a friend has lent me a halogen oven, together with some garbled instructions as she could never get to grips with using it. I tried to cook a small pie yesterday and the bottom was soggy :D was there something I did wrong? I thought about turning it over, but then the filling would have come out!
