I meant to say earlier Claire - if anyone ever makes a comment in your house like that again, I recommend saying "oh, I was a little worried about that, I've really been much too poorly to do anything about it, in fact, I could really do with a hand, you wouldn't mind would you?" :D And then hand a duster over :D

Our evening out materialised into an amble through the woods and some instant noodles :rotfl: :D Got next Friday earmarked instead :)

Does the armpit area hurt (more than legs)?
Nope (well, not after the first few times as initially the hair is strong and thick if you've been shaving), plus there is a lot less of them to do than legs. Having said that I've just changed from somewhere that used warm strip wax to the hot wax that they slap on, set and peel off, and it's even better :) Revolutionised my life as I'm FAR too lazy to shave and then have to clean up the mess...

Lots of great news on here, so much positivity :) enjoy the sunshine everyone

It's MUCH better... just make sure you keep going with it now... don't undo all the good work. And thanks for the reminder, I need to book an appointment...

After an unusually energetic day (gym first thing, followed by sports massage, which has, as usual, left me with bruises, then a 4.5 mile walk in the afternoon and finally a 2.5km run), I think I probably need to think about heading off to bed if I'm going to be any use to anyone tomorrow!
  • The wax at the place I go to is very hot, and green... the only bit that hurts is the top of my flabby ol' thighs!

Not brave enough for... erm... anywhere else.

I wonder if the mentors still read - sorry x

I was just catching up, and I just came across some rare insight and wisdom. So many things have struck a chord with me. Firstly your post MG about how so much of our own personal 'success' depends not on external factors but on our relationships with ourselves. Changing our minds about who we are and what we deserve seems to be something incredibly powerful.

Also Crickett, the comment about your Dad made me think about my relationship with my Mum. She is critical and likes to dish out 'tough love'. It is only now I am starting to realise that these criticisms do not define me. Isn't it funny we allow other people to define us so much? In the case of my Mu, her criticism seems to be simply her way of being 'needed'. I need her, and she wants to be needed, but the way she responds is with criticism which builds a wall between us. These issues are hers and not mine. It still hurts, but I know my sisters and I, we are good girls, and we don't deserve tough love all the time. We are three blessings, and if I am lucky enough to have kids I will not pass on negative feelings to them.

And finally, in Kampala more than anywhere else I see how many opportunities I have had. And even though I might have not made the right choices, I celebrate that these choices existed for me. And I know in my life I will try to enable others around me, if that's kids or friends, or whoever.

Well I seem to be having one of those weeks, I still feel battered after my fall on Weds, my friend came here last night the house was a pigsty as I couldn't do any tidying, and she said it smelt of dog when she came in, :(

A "friend" would notice the smell and the mess; a true friend would just muck in and sort the causes out for you.

Eyebrows are fine. Its quick - no more than 5 minutes. They don't even stay red for long :)

I don't have mine waxed anymore after a friend had a blob of waxed dropped in the wrong place and ended up with an odd shaped eyebrow. To be fair, mine don't grow back much anymore, so I just tidy with tweezers, however lots of people tell me that threading is the best option.
