Morning! Marru, I love how your BF responded to your text - as FW said, he's definitely a keeper :)

Fantastic blue skies out here - and everywhere in the country, I *think*.

Cheri - congratulations on having the house offer accepted! To live your dream .... priceless :)

Firstly your post MG about how so much of our own personal 'success' depends not on external factors but on our relationships with ourselves. Changing our minds about who we are and what we deserve seems to be something incredibly powerful.
    Wise words, thank you, Lara

Fantasia, what a lovely way to celebrate. And that is definitely the way to look at it. A whole new chapter to start.

Cheery DR Daffs - I am indeed celebrating. Its Friday, its sunny and I am on the way to a new life in Austria. OK, I can say it out loud I have had the offer accepted on the house , I wont be moving there immediately but my lifelong ambition of living in Europe is now within touching distance. The energy of this thread is contagious and it has helped me to focus on what is important in life. A very long way to go and believe me I will be hooked to the MSE wagon for a LONG time to come but sometimes its worth taking a risk.

Cheers all, enjoy that tea Daffs.

    :T:T:T:T:T yay Cheri that's great news :D

however lots of people tell me that threading is the best option.

I had mine threaded once. Goodness it was more painful than I EVER imagined  They looked amazing though......but am afraid once is more than enough for me :o

Sun is out, feeling stressed. Fed up royally with the state of the house. And to top it all off dropped a bottle of green nail polish all over our bedroom floor :mad::mad: The carpet did need replacing but really I am just cursed when it comes to my home. Managed to melt a couple of spots on the carpet tiles in the kitchen end of last week.......its not that I am not careful but honestly it's the one area where this family only has to look at the floor or a wall or something and it gets stained, damaged or broken.

Really fancy moving house and starting all over again elsewhere :o

Sorry to bring down the positivity on this thread........need to shake off this cloud hanging over me :o

Have a great weekend, enjoy the sunshine but remember to take care of your skin ;)

Claire - Hope farmers market goes well for you.

Fantasia - Glad the stuff got there in time, was panicking a bit :o

Eyebrows are fine. Its quick - no more than 5 minutes. They don't even stay red for long :)

Treading is better for brows than waxing - looks better.

Bitsy - maybe you need to have a think about how you could change things to make them less prone to damage (particularly while you have small children to add into the equation), so when you DO have to replace things, you do so with something practical.

For example, in your bedroom, do you need to have a carpet, or do you have floorboards underneath? They don't even have to be nice. Mine, aren't, but I painted them, and they now have a distressed look :p. In the kitchen maybe ceramic, terracotta, stone or linoleum (the natural stuff) might be be better (if you need it to be warm, an underfloor heating mat isn't too expensive to install and run if set up properly) as they don't melt/scorch and most stuff wipes off (and when they do get marked, it adds 'character' :)). But remember, the good thing about carpet tiles is you can just take up the damaged ones and replace them (which is why, when you buy carpet tiles, its is always worth buying a few extra!)

How about when you're thinking about doing things in the house, you ask the Matrix for advice on the most practical solution, based on your lifestyle and preferences?

I'm pottering this morning, as a friend is coming over to have lunch, sit in the garden and maybe go for a walk. So I've worked out where a few plants are going, hoovered my sitting room and moved some junk from the kitchen and sitting room to the stairs so it can work its way back to where it needs to live! Just need to fill up the log and kindling baskets, and then I can sort out the utility room and maybe prepare for a deep clean - this time of year makes me want to empty and wash out cupboards, wash down surfaces and clean windows ... I'm sure the urge will pass soon :rotfl::rotfl:

Wow- you lot have been busy sinces yesterday:D

Well done cheri - love it when a plan comes together.

Manic day yesterday as you can imagine. DS1 had a ball at the theatre - and was amazed when Kevin wished him "Happy Birthday" from the stage:j

A long afternoon athis Grandmas with lots of people visiting and bringing him bits n bobs. As ususal the success of the day was the balloons, which kept all kids (and loopy dog) very amused.

Too many cups of coffee - too many cakes. But my wee one was three and the sun was out so lots to celebrate.

My best friend came over at 7pm last night with her kids to see the birthday boy -(so a great excuse to palm off the last of the cakes) - and we all had ONE glass of wine.

The problem is that today I feel like I have had a skinfull:eek: LIfe is not fair.

DS1 has been off for his golf lesson this morning - and Grandad has paid for another four - Yaaay Grandad:T

Done the library run and LIDL. So spendies to report are 89p for some eggs and 74p for some crisps and 89p for some milk. So off to add up my signature with an additional £2.52.

I "inherited" a copy of the "Pay off your Mortgage in 2 years" book -from the series a couple of years ago. Pretty disappointed in that it seems no-one made great strides towards actually achieving the goal - better reading on the MFW thread really. Would love to read a story of how someone has actually gone out and done this in a short time on a reasonable income.

Garden clearing this afternoon - and I have found a roll of 20 bin bags. This is going to be my target for the next week, to fill all 20 bags with stuff to go out of the door. I have decided that waiting for a car-boot or selling on ebay is just giving me an excuse to procrastinate - so its going to the Charity Shop, clearning space in my home to move on.IYSWIM

  • The book was from the first series really- the follow ups were good, but no second book i don't think. The couple who achieved their goal to pay off their mortgage was the St.Ives couple :) I fair enjoyed it.

    Congrats Cheri.
