MG - how big is the tree & is it close to the house. DH might have a go but he's not awful experienced with the chainsaw - but he has watched the axemen programme so that must count for something..........Debts 07/12/2021

I picked FW up from the airport at 0330ish and she is still asleep. I pointed out that hydraulics can go on any aircraft - this was the problem it seems - and I'd rather she was late than dead. They thought they could fix it and got a part I gather but ended up sending another aircraft out from the UK.
I don't suppose SAS would have done anything else (although maybe any spare aircraft would have been closer), particularly given her experience with the supposed A* Lufthansa last December when things went AWOL in Dusseldorf!
I do feel for the crew who get it in the neck for working hard and looking after 200 passengers. It can't be easy but the main issue when these things happen is the lack of information for the passengers. Just a note for your superiors PPB.:)0 -

Apologies for the calibre of rag from which this article is gleaned...

I could get into a whole debate about this but I shall refrain except to say sometimes information is passed on to the ground staff but stops thereI totally agree with you though and it's so frustrating for us and you. I'm sure there would have been a closer aircraft, but it seems a few went tech yesterday so things were going wrong all over the show and they had to wait for us to return to Manchester to steal our aircraft (so we had to get a taxi home to Stansted instead!)
Anyway I shall stop there and say no more on the subjectGlad she is safe and I always say I'd rather be safe and late than potentially dead!

Glad FW made it home safely. I've got to say I've never had any major problems with any of the budget airlines - my worst flight was a delayed BA one where they kept telling us different things every five minutes!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

... although a little inconvenient alive, but late is better than dead definitely.
IMHO, I would much rather know the truth no matter how ridiculous it is, rather than being fobbed off with "we'll update you in half an hour".
I remember being sat on the plane at the dept gate for several hours while staff fought with the computer trying to convince it that the door was in fact shut! No one told us that til we were finally in the air - but why is it so secret. If the plane is broken then it's broken. Just tell us, I don't mind waiting, I just like to know why I am waiting lol
Poor PPB, have you had a good sleep after your long day and horrible taxi ride? x0 -
True, I don't know why they don't tell you. Their favourite line is that the cabin crew are late to the plane!
I woke up at 9, going to try and sleep later as I'm working again tonight... taxi ride wasn't bad until the driver kept falling asleep! Didn't dare shut my eyes when I realised!
