Don't panic claire - tell her you'll get back to her at the beginning of next week as you have to do some analysis and will come back to her next week with a proposal once you've assessed whether you have the capacity to do the work.

Well it looks like dinner can be achieved with nothing else bought - so I declare to day a NSD - Yaayyy!!! Me!!!!:T

Just spent an hour in the sun in the garden (Yes - SUN!!!!!) chopping down even more ivy - up to 54 buckest full so far. Can just about see the fences now.

Quick question for all you local ladies with wood-burners. I've got a dead tree in the garden that has to come down. Free to anyone who will lend me their husband to dismantle said tree.:D:D

The brilliant thing is that with that tree gone my little plot is looking at being quite a suntrap.................... whether I can get it into a fit state to plan anything out this year is going to be a race against time and the elements. But if I can keep dragging on the wellies and chipping away at it an hour at a time ............ success at some point.

The black clouds are rolling in - the real ones - not the metaphorical ones (In fact all this time outside has definitely got me feeling more chipper). So time to come in from playing :rotfl:

Plan is to spend the evening cutting out DS2's new clothes. I cut them all out and then have a "production line" going to assemble them all in one go. So I sew 10 pockets, iron, sew 10 inside legs, iron 10 inside legs, sew 5 crotches, iron, sew 5 waistbands, elastic 5 waistbands, try on one pair and mark the hem, make the rest the same an sew all the hems. Voila - 5 pairs of trousers:rotfl:

.................... voila!!! 5 FREE pairs of trousers :D

    Later ladies

Oh Dear - message from Firewalker

Poor FW - she gets really rattled by travelling hiccups - send her your calming energy.

Crickett that sounds like a really horrible situation to find yourself in. Positive vibes flowing your way, with a few reserved for FW and her travelling panics, and others for Claire and her jewellery panics! I will pop over to the other side in a while when I have had a mad 15 minute dash around the place tidying and sorting and see what's going on.

We're making good progress with our attempt at emptying the second freezer for defrosting. Freezer 1 also needs defrosting so I think some of the more fragile stuff from there might go into the empty space in freezer 2, so that F1 can be defrosted this evening. That stuff can then go back to F1 once that is done, and by the weekend F2 should be able to be switched off, defrosted, dried out thoroughly and be left sitting idle (and not using electric!) while we are away. Hurrah for meal planning and frugal-from-the-freezer eating! Rest of the pre-holiday plans are going well too - my lists are gradually turning green as things are done, and our lovely cottage rental lady emailed me yesterday to say that the keys are on their way to us. :D

Fish pie for dinner this evening - the fish & sauce was made on Sunday and today I have hard boiled my remaining two eggs and made the mash for the top - it is all now assembled and will head for the oven in 30 minutes.

Earlier on I took a deep breath, got myself a large bucket of tea, and attempted to do my Self Assessment form. Then discovered that HMRC have the SA online site down at the moment for scheduled maintenance. A little muttering under the breath took place. I'll do it on Thursday now instead.

Right - 15 minute household blitz here I come!!

Doing well so far on the Ultimate Grocery Challenge - but there is one item in my storecupboard that I am a little challenged by.

I have a 5 kg tin of broad beans - anyone got some interesting recipes that could use them up?

I'm guessing that once opened any extras could be frozen - so not quite the "rubber cauliflower" of last summer, where I think we got ten meals out of one cauli.

What do you suggest we should be eating?

Broad bean dips :) e.g. bessara
    Broad bean risotto
Cold broad beans added to salad

... I have lots of broad beans in the freezer... I LOVE them :D

Lots of positive travel vibes to FW... I hate that too :(
