    Good morning one & all

The sun is shining & it's warm here. It's a beautiful day.

Bedding is in the washing machine
Doors & windows are all open
House is still clean & tidy
Having breakfast at the moment (well - a celeb slim shake -I'm trying to clear the top of the fridge)
Have a few wee things to do round the house

And then into the garden we go - will go for the rosebed this morning & also, hopefully the greenhouse - need to get it ready for tomatoes & stuff

Chickens also need cleaned out & poo patrol needs done

MG - do you want the chicken poop?

Hallo Matrix! I just discovered that we really have to listen to our men sometimes. For months now Mr F has been telling me to automate the menu generation by putting dishes and ingredients into a fancy spreadsheet - I didn't do it. Now that he had to do the menu guess what! Yep, Dropbox just informed me that there is a new file created in a shared folder - a spreadsheet generator for the weekly menu. One timesuck gone. I wonder whether it is random or one could link it to stock cabinet content?

MG - I mean this in the nicest possible way but

    :p:p I HATE YOU :p:p

your wonderful achievements and the little - "Oh, I've just run up 2 pairs of shorts & 3 pairs of PJs whilst making my bread & putting the soup on....Now what to do in my next 15 minute TADA?" makes me feel useless & pathetic.

My lentil/lemon soup is on - the bread will come out of the bread bin though and then I'm away to prune the rose bed using the thorns as some form of flaggellation (sp?) for my failings.

Anyhow - on a good note - I've visited the pound shop today & come home with some goodies - 5 paintbrushes, 40 latex gloves (for gardening), 4 fajita mixes (2 for a £), 2 packets of seeds & chompities for the dogs.

OH has decided we need to cut back so has offered to paint a grubby wall in the kitchen on his next day off & I can't find the 900 or soo cheap paintbrushes I have stashed away so new ones were needed.

I realise I'm rambling a bit so will toddle off just now & visit the roses

In my defence - his little leggies are only 18" long so it doesn't take long :rotfl:

Bread is done by the breadmaker and soup by the slowcooker, so input is pretty minimal.

My garden now looks like a bomb has hit - Dad announced he would come around with his campervan to do a skip run........ in an hour!!! Cue manic Keystone Cops activity clearning ivy and rubbish.

............... but a full load off the skip - and 10 bags of compost neatly stacked ready for planters.

........... now it looks a bit less like Steptoes yard I suppose.

Time for lunch (leftover lemon lentil soup . Mmmmmmm!!!!!!)

................... and then off to hassle MrF for a copy of that spreadsheet :rotfl:.

    Well - I made the lentil/lemon soup & I found something out....

Did you know you can burn soup? :o Well, if you forget it's bubbling away it bubbles away too much - I've added more water & hopefully it'll live....

I did this too... reheating soup from yesterday. I can thoroughly recommend making it in the SC as MG does... you'd have to leave it for days before it burned!

I'm feeling very unmotivated about the garden, which was landscaped last year - the area round the patio is fine (although could do with a bit more topsoil and some bark on it), and although it has a few gaps, I'm picking up some plants from my mum at Easter. I do need a climbing rose there though, so will try to find an albertine in the next few days.

Two of the beds by the lawn are OK, but the biggest one needs the shape finalising, edges doing and some thought going into the planting.

The back of the garden is a mess. We pruned the apple tree, but didn't get to the top, so I need someone to hold a ladder while I go up with a bow saw to get the top branches. The beds at the back, and where the shed was are a complete mess and need some major work.

Oh... and I have paeonies coming up in the front lawn, as I heeled everything in there when i was doing the landscaping last year, and clearly failed to get them all out!

Well - the lovewly day has gone - the heaven's have opened. But I have e nough wood to burn for the fire & managed to get the washing in - but will now have to tumble dry it:( as we need it for the bed tonight. We do have more than 1 set but if it goes straight back on the bed then ironing is not required.

And talking of ironing - 'spose I'd better start that now.....

Well, spreadsheet or not he still run out of petrol - thank goodness he was near our house. More automation is needed, me thinks.
