Well, here's hoping I get to go out (taps fingers and eagerly awaits text message from friend confirming or cancelling babysitting favour)! If not, I'll just have to wait til Sunday *sigh* when he reckons he'll be well enough to pop over.......and I could then use the time tonight to do the studying I was too irritated to do last night, so whatever happens, I know that he's still as keen as mustard, and that I need to just take your advice and just chill, relax and (keep on) enjoying :):)

Where would I be without the Matrix keeping me on track?!?

Lovin' it, Lovin; it, Lovin' it.

How cool is this thread, loving also the romance kind of discussion.

@ouch' Minor interruption. Parrot Robert just shouted at me 'Mum, Mum, you're a muppet'.

Romantic gestures are nice, last summer I was introduced to the lovely warm bath (OH had run it for me) he'd also lit scented tea lights and poured me a lovely glass of rose wine, the idea was to chill and relax and soak my cares away.
Awww bless him, he'd even cut roses from the garden and sprinkled pink, white, and red petals so they were floating invitingly in the bath water. Seriously had tears in my eyes at his thoughtfulness,

Just out of interest and feel free not to answer, but where did you are OH go for a 1st date. Mine took me for a coffee and then 10 pin bowling. Not very romantic but it did seal my fate.

Just one thing wrong, silly man had forgotten that garden grown
are prone to green fly. he had'nt washed the flowers or stems before sharding the petals in the bath and the whole bath was crawling with greenfly either, drowned or half drowned or pathetically trying to scramble half heartedly to safety up the sides of the bath.

Oh well, the thought was there, would like to add though I love him to bits, he's thoughtful, caring and would do anything for anybody. Took me nearly my whole life time to find him, but boy it was worth the wait.

edit to say I get mixed up wit the multiqyote thing, (think I quoted my own message yesterday ir error lol
Somebody did explain multi quote to me but I use it so rarely I have forgotted. * sneaks off blushing
  • Brilliant parrot tale Fantasia, and :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:about the greenfly!!

This has cheered me up no end.

Hugs to MG and please let us know how your poorly Mum is doing when you have a moment.

Oh fiddlesticks, got the okay from babysitting friend and then MrA called to say he's feeling rubbish again and has to go to bed, never mind, I really will get down to some studying, or more likely, nattering on here instead :) I'm not that fed up, at least it saves the babysitting favour for another night when he's able to take me out as originally planned :)

Never mind Kitty, studying tonight means that you will be available at the drop of hat on Sunday!

First date with OH, well thats a bit tricky to answer really. We used to be best friends when we were teenagers. (I had a very big crush on him from the age of 15 so when my best friend started dating his best friend we became friends and I was too scared to tell him how I felt because it would spoil our friendship) So as teenagers we used to do everything together, he would come to mine for tea, we would listen to music, drive round in his Dads car, take my dog for walks, watch tv. etc etc etc. Then I found myself a boyfriend and he banned me from seeing OH as we were too friendly! Silly I know but I was young.
Anway, long story short we met up again 25 years later and I invited him for tea. We just picked up where we left off, went for dog walks, sat in mine and watched tv/had tea, went to best friends (who I had also been banned from seeing 25 years earlier). So there was never really any first date. I just plucked up the courage one night after copious amounts of red wine served with the meal I had prepared to tell him how I had felt all those years before. Turned out he had felt the same. My Mum was over the moon. Said that she always knew that we were meant to be together but didnt want to interfere.

I do like hearing about first dates though.

  • First Date tales... aww!

Well as I am greedy, me 'n' !!!!!! have had 3!

The first first happened after a job interview. I thought he was gay, and because I wanted the job I flirted like a mad thing! He wasn't gay, and he thought I was flirting! He rang me one saturday morning to tell me I'd got the job, and to ask me out for a drink. We went for a walk on the beach, and erm, ended up snogging. Didn't go to the cinema as planned

the second first one was just a drink at a pub

And the 3rd first one, he just came over for a cup of tea lol. He's been here ever since! I think he went home one night about a month later to pack his stuff in his own rented flat... Aww I think I will keep him this time :) I wuvs him :)

Thanks Fantasia. Yes it is a bit Mills and Boons when I tell the story. I am a very lucky lady most of the time but thats not to say that he doesnt have a way of driving me crackers at times. I am sure that had we got together when we were younger I would have been had up for actually bodily harm. Now I just smile and find his irritating bits quite funny! As I am sure does he with mine.
