Robsmum - i took great pleasure in going through the joint photos when me and the ex split, I gave him anything with him in, so have a few wedding pics to show DD one day if she ever shows interest (unlikely, sensible girl!) and all the blurry ones, evil mare that I am.....
Yay, it's Tuesday and I'm feeling happy still! Does anyone have any tips for learning Italian and/or any websites they can recommend? I had a look at a BBC website last night, and want to learn before hopefully going on holiday this summerI can read it quite well but speak with a mixture of French/Spanish accent, due to French degree and more holidays in Spain, lol.

Can we do them here please? I have major problems logging into the Matrix and I think that if we have challenges here, it will help keep this thread full of beans and be more inclusive.

I couldn't get into the Matrix at work either and never seem to get the time at home so I am concentrating on this thread too.
Please join me in a small celebration as today is the day when my credit history finally clears:j:j:j:j
It was a bank default of £350 which I paid off on 18th January 2005 so I have been being good & paying everything on time for a long time now. Of course it's only useful if you are after credit but even so.....
Second good thing to happen today is that I realised that this is the month when I catch up on the 4 weekly childcare/CTC payments. Normally when I budget I add them to my monthly salary but as they were paid twice in December, I added the late December ones to the January budget and now I've realised that I will get them next week and again in February so an extra £315 that I hadn't budgeted for!
Other than that the sun is shining and it is beginning to get light before 8 o'clock which makes a huge difference.0 -

Am plum wore out, 3 hours round Birmingham, still must think of the exercise
Suprisingly not a great deal of choice for fabrics, mostly sheeting weight which I think is a bit thin for the projects I want to tackle. Still managed to get some stuff suitable, just wish there was more variety.
Off to pick up kids shortly and off to Autism course tonight so no crafting or any other stuff going on.
First day of SW diet which hopefully will keep me on the straight and narrow on my challenge to be slim. Must stop saying "slimmer" I think it's too ambigious for my unconscious mind
Hope you've all had good days, Helen great news on the extra money. Been sunny and dry here all dayI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Have been thinking about challenges and what I NEED to do, for me, my health (which is very good) atm, but I'm thinking longterm.
I mentioned somewhere along the line that I smoke (argh, grrr shame on me). Have done now 20 a day for 30 years. I stopped once for 6 months about 9 years ago and have made piddling, pathetic attempts to stop several times between then and now.
I have a months supply of patches and lozenges. The most i can usually go is 3 days and then I crack and smoke again.
I also know that I am chemically addicted, this stuff (tobacco is more addictive than heroin according to the medical profession).
I cannot afford to spend huge amounts of money on seminars on stopping or buying books and I know I can't do it cold-turkey.
And I don't want to go the stopping smoking support thread either. I want to stay here:o.
SO *Bites the bullet, here goes. I bought a 20 packet this morning which I will finish. Then I will put on a nicotine patch, not buy cigarettes, suck lozenges and go 1 cigarette at a time. I will change my habits of drinking coffee, which makes me ligh up automatically.
I will keep my self busy domestically (or try too).
And ignore OH who smokes too and isn't interested in stopping (YET). But I will ask him to go to the back door and to please stop leaving cigarettes where I can see them etc.
What I'd like to ask you all is if you will keep on at me, nag me, encourage me, tell me straight if needs be, don't accept any excuses from me. I have to do this for me, I can't afford to smoke anymore, am fed up of burning money each day.
I want to have no spend days, which I can't when I'm frittering 5 quid daily on the dreaded weed.
Whatever it takes basically.
Thank you x0 -
Well done Fantasia322... you can do this. You know you can. The best thing is to avoid the situations where you want to light up... drink tea instead of coffee. Tea plus cigarette tastes VILE!!"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440
