Yay, well done MG, pleased the home schooling is permitted (I don't know much about it, but with your enthusiasm and experience and your amazing DS1, he's going to go very far indeed I'm sure!!)

I'm definitely up for a challenge til Easter sounds good -
    1. to lose a decent amount of weight (2 stone minimum by Easter)
    2. save a reasonable amount of money for a proposed holiday in 188 days - think I need £696 for flights/our share of car hire, gulp. Then spending, food, petrol, etc etc money. I'm being very silly
    3. Exercise a minimum of 3x a week
    4. Stay positive - am working hard on this, most days are better than others at the moment (hmm, wonder if Mr A has something to do with it, lol ;) ) but accept fluctuations as being normal rather than panicking that I'm slipping down again.

Just got my daily Secret scroll email through and it struck a chord with me with my situation and I think will resonate with MG and undoubtedly others.......enjoy:

"So often when things change in our lives, we have such a resistance to the change. This is because when people see a big change appearing they are often fearful that it is something bad. But it is important to remember that when something big changes in our lives, it means something better is coming. There cannot be a vacuum in the Universe, and so as something moves out, something must come in and replace it. When change comes, relax, have total faith and know that the change is ALL GOOD"

Good morning - hope all is well with people...been thinking a lot about the challenges and I think I may concentrate on just one for the time being well I guess its kind of two.

I need to cut down on the amount of time I spend on here (I tend to come here when I stressed out and I think thats only making matters worse)...so I'm going to do my 15 minutes a day and thats it...

Good luck to everyone else and their challenges

MG: Glad to see you back! Hope things will now settle down for you and the littlies. I am interested to follow the home schooling adventure as I feel for many children mainstream school just doesn't work for them. My DS when young was a very poorly child and school was just too much, in his reception year he managed a total of 2 weeks! I used to do things with him when he was well and we had such fun. Good luck and shout if you beed any random things,

as you never know what we collectively have laying around.

My challenges are on going and I have put them in my diary, but the plan is to spend an hour a week on:
    Finances
    Health and well being
    Knowledge and learning
    Work - finding new job.

I have a challenge for today - make pastry from scratch and make it edible:eek: I just can't make pastry!

    Catch up later.

    Good Morning :)

Well I'm having one of those days today :( after getting the house looking lovely yesterday, after sleeping late (boys now off school) I came down to rubbish all over the kitchen floor :( Jack (the dog ) has bled everywhere so now need to phone the vets :( (may no longer have him after that ).

On a Positive note I'm not going to let this morning ruin my day, the sun is shining so I'm going to get dressed in a minute and put some bedding (first time this year) on the line :) and hopefully it will dry, oh first time on the line not beds changed lol.

Need to meet mum to go to the hospital at 10 so best get cracking :)

Robs mum I make pastry in the food processor if thats any help, MG has some lovely pastry recipies, depends if you want sweet or savoury pastry. (the mince pir recipe pastry was lush :)

Oh Claire, I am not sure what's wrong with your poochie but I hope he's OK and comes back from the vets <hug>

Morning everyone. I can see blue sky and weak sunshine from my window :D
Off to Brum Rag market today to get some fabric for my craft projects. Will meet H for lunch if his meeting finishes in time. DD going to play at grannies so I can concentrate on fabrics etc, small children and shopping DON'T mix (nor does it seems at LEA offices either ;))

Glad to see lots of people posting and the thread getting it's fizz back.
Blue Monday yesterday? Nah don't buy it, I'd rather have this Blue Monday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1IsJEOVfnw

<heads off to sort out DD tapping foot> I forgot how much I LOVE this song.

I find music gives me a boost far more than words can sometimes, perhaps we should also share our favourite positive tunes or just songs that give us a boost?
I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife :D Louise Brooks

Not that it matters, because it's Tuesday today. I did notice leaving work last night that it was a little bit lighter. That makes me smile! I do hate dark wintery evenings. It's also light by the time the bus gets to work in the mornings now, which is also good.

I've just had my return to work interview after being off with the fluey bug last week, and apparently I still look really ill. She wanted to send me home. Does she know how many emails I have to trawl through. I promised to go home if I felt rough and that was good enough.
  • Mornin' all

Five to ten - where has the morning gone?

Let's start off with a TADA list:

Beds made and house generally tidied
    Dishes washed and dried
Washloads sorted (didn't manage any ironing yesterday, so my ironing is a bit )
Tonights tea made - lentil curry, very yum and MSE

More paperwork for me in a moment - yet another disability form for ds. I think my new occupation is professional form-filler-inner. It just goes to show how when you step out of the mainstream how the officialdom of society struggle to cope . I'm sure MG can relate to that after yesterday's all-day trip to the lea.

Yet more paperwork in that I'm going to request a pension forecast for me and oh - given our changes in working circumstances over the past two years, I need to check that I have been credited with National Insurance contributions for my state pension. Eeeh it's scary that not only can a disability half your family income but it can severely impact any potential retirement pension - guess I'm going to be around MSE for many years to come. Life would be so much easier if we didn't need money :rotfl:.
  • MG i worked with a home school group for a year when it first started

there is funding out there if you link up with other families in the area for one day a week for drama/music/sport/art/etc

here in wales there are loads of small groups that band together for science days/trips, do you have that net work in scotland??

Have now wasted half the morning! My exOH wanted some photos of his younger days, I promised I'd sort them out. Can't find them now:mad: a gremlin has hidden them cause I saw them before Christmas. But have sat and gone through boxes of photos. Not sure what the Universe is telling me there? Maybe enjoy the nostalgia.
