Just been texted that "one of my boys" - that is one of the ones I used to feed Sunday dinner to at college has got his new series starting tomorrow.

9pm on BBC1 - Zen, He (Rufus Sewell) plays Aurelio Zen - Italian Detective. Kind of like Wallendar.

Ladies ........................ he is sooooooo pretty you are just gonna have to watch (I'm just a little biased :D)

Off to put one snotty toddler to bed - swiftly followed by one slightly bigger one too I hope.

    Back later

OOh MG - Rufus Sewell - swoon !!!

He was Tom Builder in 'The Pillars of The Earth' - Ken Follett's book which was serialised on tv recently - I loved the book - read it years ago but the dramatisation was rather given the Hollyood treatment but still enjoyable.

Happy New Year MG and all Matrix-ers :)

    Morning Matrix Mammas

Both boys sniffling with colds now - but I have to say they are still in very good moods. Just realised its Sunday, isn't it funny how you lose track over the holidays??? So today I am going to knuckle own and fly through a few fifteen minute routines to get the house a little tidier.

I'm also going to start packing away bits a pieces of the Christmas stuff ready for next year. Fifteen minutes per day should see it done in the the next few days. Easy does it.

This afternoon we (DS1 and I) are going to sit down and create our "Dream Map for 2011" - all the things we would like to do, achieve and experience in the coming year. His big one is to learn how to cook :j

Looks like I will be teachig him in the afternoons and having him only at school in the mornings for the next term. He is ten and needs to be with some peers for some of his learning so need to come up with a workable proposal in the next week.

One of the things he is keen to do is run his own business, so I need to look into whether he can practice running a business on Ebay (obviously held in my name but with him doing the work and balancing the books). He would like to pay for his own schooling, but even if he can pay for his own violin lessons that would be great.

The upside is part time hours means part time fees :j

Have decided on my New Years Resolution ................ I'm going to find more occasions to celebrate with champagne :D

Thats one resolution I look forward to keeping

Happy New Year to 1 & all

I will come back to t'internet land but real life seems to get in the way at tim es
My day too will be a ta-da day but will pop on to Matrix to update this

MG - DS1 wants to learn to cook & wants to start a business - what about cooking biscuits (like the delicious Twinks hob nobs) & selling them in small pretty bags - sure schoolkids would love them

Or if the e-bay thing is a go-er then he could also sell on commission (for people like me that have a lot to get rid of but are wary of e-bay)

Anyway - musy go & make beef bourguignonne in the slow cooker with the reduced ,meat so we have some tea tonight - will pop back later peeps

Well like my Granny used to say ..... "back to auld claes n porridge"

Has anyone else ended up the festive season with MORE food in stock than ever??? Feel the mother of all storecupbard challenges coming on. :D

Totalled up the pennies in my purse - £43.60 (I was given £50 on Xmas Eve as a surprise) So there's my challenge pot - if I could make it a £1 per day I could get up to Sunday the 13th of February. That would be a great kick start to the New Year. Every spare penny goes into the "Get rid of the bank" pot.

I've thought about my weight thing. I think my problem is that I am eating "Slimming World" portions but not eating SW food :rotfl::rotfl:. So as I am on a storecupboard challenge I am going to have to challenge myself to manage my portions. I'm going to eat half my normal portions for 2 days and then eat whatever I want on the third - that way should be able to gradually re-educate myself to being satisfied with less on the plate. I should also be able to eat exacly the same foods as the boys (the stuff thats in store).

After all if I lose 2lbs per month for the next year, Christmas should see me at target.

So I have got my brand spanking new spending diary in my handbag and a diddy little notebook in there too.

New calendar up on the wall and a pencil tied to a length of string to the back of it (so that it doesn't go walkabout with the toddler :D)

Request for hummus for lunch - so am defrosting some chickpeas from the freezer - easy peasey;)

My Mum wasn't too well yeserday (so they didn't come for the traditional Steak Pie and trifle) I've frozen the steak in three lots (will do me and the littlies for 3 Sunday dinners) and will text my Best Friend to see if she wants the trifle (her kds love and mine are not too fussed)

..................but my fridge and freezer are still groaning, but at least we now have a plan :T
