How BIG is the Desire HD? It really is a humongous beast, the screen is diabolical. Why no Retina or Amoled? The battery life is quite simply shocking. All these wonderful things it has sound great, but you have to switch them all off to get a day of battery life.
As always, these poxy companies fail.

Check out my next post to see if there was ever anything wrong with my iPhone 4.

You gutted now?

Today, I began to have trouble with my iPhone 4 not connecting. I assumed an iTunes issue was the problem and subsequently reinstalled iTunes on six seperate occassions. Eventually getting fed up, I contacted o2 who told me there was nothing they could do and I would have to speak to Apple. I was then transferred to Apple and as I began to explain problems to the Apple rep, all my connectivity was completely lost.
I went to my o2 and they advised me they would send the phone away for repair, but seemed delighted to advise me all 150 of my contacts would be lost. Also, all 300 applications I have paid for will be lost as well. They took my phone and replaced it with a Nokia 2760, a phone that does not even have email. I purchased my iPhone 4 for a reason, emailing is an important part of my job. I now have a phone worth £25 as courtesy?
So, the o2 rep simply puts my micro sim in an adapter and gives me this Nokia without so much as checking it. Rather than a thankyou, I am treated as a hinderance. When I get home, I decide to add all my contacts from the note pad I had prepared just in case. After this, I discover that this phone has no connectivity also and phone o2 again. I am then advised, my o2 account number had been removed from my sim card. The rep advised me that to do this, they needed the sim card number, unless someone had been into my account and done it from there.
They could find no reason why this should have occured, but could only assume it was an operators fault.
So, I am treated diabolical, I have a phone that doesn't even recieve email, I lose 150 contacts, I lose 300 applications, I lose a full music library with over 200 songs, I pay for the top phone on the market and end up with nothing short of disgust. There may have been nothing wrong with my iPhone 4, why did he not check it in the shop? Im going to lose all this now and for nothing.
I now wish to end my contract with o2 and want my money back as I have never had a day like today, their "customer support" is awful and this 20 year old piece of garbage I have been given is nothing short of disgusting.
I took a new contract in August for two years, paying £35 per month. Have you any feedback or advice?

you cant blame o2 for the loss of the apps etc as they send the phones to apple to repair
and they have to completely wipe them to acces the default|(factory settings)

it sounds like a firmware fault if it is its just a matter of updating the firware

and why didnt you back up your songs apps etc onto your computer

  • There was nothing wrong with the phone though, they had switched my account off by mistake. As for backing up, I reinstalled iTunes so many times I don't know what the state is.
Then there is this phone, I am paying for the best, not the worst. Then why didnt guy in store check my o2 connection?

    ok leaving itunes aside

sometimes mistakes happen there inconvenient but that happens
as for backing up u should always do this as losing stuff is inevitable other wise

regards to the courtesy phone they tend to give people basic phones rather than fancy ones as your more likely to give it back

and your not paying for the best or worse phone you pay for the tariff and network coverage which i presume you are getting at the mo even through the basic phone

This sounds like someone who isn't familiar with what they are doing, trying to sort a problem out and making it much much worse. Even the use of the phrase 'not connecting' has a different meaning to the one you are giving it. Which no doubt caused them to think the phone was faulty and needed to be repaired.
So I think its a mistake on O2's part that has been amplified by the well meaning but wrong efforts as you try to sort it.

Somehow I doubt they've replaced your phone with a Nokia2xxx. What they will have done is loaned you that phone while yours is getting fixed. So maybe if you can tell the story a bit more accurately, we might actually get somewhere.

Given the known manufacturing defects, why on earth did you buy a crapple?

Having had an iPhone since the release of 3G, I would say I know what I'm doing. The contacts backed up have the numbers missing, the names are there but the numbers are missing.
With regard to apps, this backup has apps but with all different names, i.e: Alarm Clock, Alarm Clock 4432, Alarm Clock 12, Alarm Clock 4 etc etc.
The calendars or notes are just grey and will not synch at all.

Well obviously they have replaced it whilst mine is repaired, what on earth do you think I mean. Never mind.:silenced:

Best answer so far. I have phoned o2 on numerous occassions about faults with this phone since I purchased in July. Every time you do an iTunes update, something goes wrong.
Both Apple and o2 are pathetic.
I should have avoided Apple and o2.

My phone recently broke. The man in the O2 shop was lovely. He said it would take 2 weeks, but a week later I had my phone back with a letter saying Arkadiusz had fixed it.

I really care who the engineer was.
