Their claim about having to make 3 phone calls per DAY to be considered harassment is ridiculous and untrue. It fits the criminal offence of harassment if their behaviour is making you feel harassed and is unreasonable to an average person - and clearly your comment in bold suggests that's the case already.

Next time they ring, state clearly the words that the alleged debt is DENIED and their behavious IS harassment which you have already taken steps to report to Trading Standards. If they do not return the file for this denied debt to the originator and cease contacting you completely, you WILL get your Solicitor involved.
Oh, and BTW, as already said, it is indeed Roxburghe call-centre employees on the phone pretending to be 'GW' so do drop that piece of knowledge into the conversation if you want. Over on the debt forums, I'm sure there is a template letter asking for debt collectors only contact you in writing or you will consider it harassment and will report them to the police.
Failing that use that whistle from your raving days.

I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.
I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls and I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.
I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.
Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company may be recorded and used in evidence and I expect this harassment to cease immediately.

As a suggestion, you might want to add the following as their threat of using "field investigators" appears to be a new tactic and is an expansion of the suggested format on the link above. As debt collectors they should, of course, only send someone to your home by appointment.
"Please note carefully: The implicit licence that exists at Common Law for persons to call at this address in pursuit of reasonable enquiries or requests without express permission insofar as it relates to your company, officers, employees, contractors and agents is hereby revoked with immediate effect. Any person calling on your behalf at these premises will therefore be regarded as a trespasser that may render them and your company to proceedings for damages in tort and to such further action as is deemed appropriate including, but not limited to, police attendance and the making of a formal complaint of harassment. The right to institute civil proceedings, as provided for in the Protection from Harassment Act, is reserved. It should be borne in mind that any such proceedings may render your company liable not only to substantial damages but may also adversely affect its ability to renew its Consumer Credit Act licence. No further warning will be given."My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).

Won't stop them. They use an "autodialler" which selects the number to dial from a pre-determined list then puts it through to an operative once you reply. Unless you can get to the computer with your number in it, they will keep ringing.0
