Yep. Those people are fools... the amount of myths and inherited thinking mentioned was striking. People really need to think.
Oh, and they spelt Martin's name wrong (with a "y").0 -
Just watched it and what strikes me was that no-one had seriously budgeted or considered the financial consequences of what they were signing up to, with, maybe the exception of the divorcee who had switched to IO just to keep the house.A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.
It's a recession when your neighbour loses his job; it's a depression when you lose yours.0 -
The problem is the current housing market is just one giant pyramid scheme and there are always fools to eager to join in. The young woman with just £25.00 a week to live on is probably very typical. Expect to see an even greater decline in family life as more and more people work themselves to an early death just to get a foot on the housing ladder.
A generation has been sold down the river by this government and the other VI of this country and they are to ignorant to see it.0 -
I wonder if anyone else watched the program tonight?I thought it pretty scary but I wasn`t surprised.0

Not sure why it's the Government's fault?
I suppose everything else so why not house prices? How dare they have low interest rates?

No I didn't....but I have to say I feel really sorry for people trying to get on the property ladder now.....it's rediculous!
I was lucky...I got my house beginning of 2000, so my mortgage payment per month is probably half of one of the cheaper rents these days.....how rediculous is that!
I know my nephew has to pay £600 per month rent (well no...£480 per month...£120 is housing benefit)....which I think is just stupid money for a pokey one bedroom house....then add to that he is 19 with a 3 month old bably.....there is no chance he will get on the ladder were he lives (Oxfordshire)......0 -
I felt rather annoyed because the poor woman who got repossessed had to live with her parents. She had two children and couldnt pay her mortgage when her marriage broke up. She has to wait over a year to get a council house. I am not being racist, really I'm not but someone like that, who is British born has to wait a year, while people who come in from abroad are housed immediately. Its no wonder that so many people are trying to get onto the housing ladder as people are coming in from abroad and taking all the council houses. If you work, are British and you pay your taxes, you get nothing. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

My b/f and I pay £600 pcm plus £198 council tax for a rented flat! It makes me soooooo mad I could cry at times. It's a gorgeous flat and in a really nice area in Glasgow but it's NOT OURS!!!!! I honestly can't see me owning a house in this country unless something really dramatic happens...

There is a thread on the Housing board about the program, I will send this over to join it as it seems more relevant to be on that board.0
