They scanned correctly for me but I didn't care as I got two free pairs of trousers and a packet of chicken so am very very happy. Also £4.50 for a big tin is a bargain anyway, but yes it would have been great to get them cheaper. I picked up the purple 70th anniversary ones.:T Benjamin has won!!! Am soooo proud. Thank you to everyone who agreed my baby was the cutiest. Want to go round and hug everyone who voted, it means so much to me!:A0

Glitch not working at brooklands

I have a theory as to why this glitch happened. The original offer was 2 for £10. However, on Wednesday, Sainsbury's put their tins up on offer at 2 for £9. Obviously not wanting to be outdone by Sainsbury's, Tesco decided to match the offer. So, they put their tins on 2 for £9 offer, but some clever !!!!!! forgot to take the original offer off. It was spotted fairly quickly (by Tesco standards) and the stores tried to fix the issue as fast as they could. Some stores had problems, hence them still going through with the double discount late into the evening for some people, whereas other stores were able to sort it quickly. This was probably down to how competent the individual stores are on manually adjusting prices and offers. I know my local tried hard, but was not able to do it (had to wait for HO to sort it out for them).
Moral of the story? If you're trying to keep up with Sainsbury's and go altering your offers to match theirs, at least employ someone competent enough to remember to remove the old offer before putting up a new one.
Constantine or Spa, would I be right in thinking that a lot of the IT stuff has been shifted over to India now? I'm fairly certain I read it somewhere...In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

If anyone was stupid enough to go to cs and say "I want to return these because I expected you to undercharge me and you didn't", then they deserve banning from every shop in the country for being stupid!!!!!:rotfl:
Sorrybb999. Below a copy of my post 1243 on misprice discussion thread apologising. Got hold of the wrong end of the stick.
"Thanks leadhead. My fault for 'skimming' & hopping backwards & forwards trying to catch up. I missed Constantines post.
Promise to pay more attention in class in future. ( Hangs head in shame, goes to sit in corner facing wall)"
By the way, some people would buy them hoping to get the discount glitch & when the glitch didn't work ask C/S for an ordinary refund, not telling them why though.
Have I got to go back to the corner again?

There is also a further twist to the glitch in that some stores are actually giving £9 as the discount rather than the price charged resulting in two tins for £6.95Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

Moral of the story? If Sainsbury's want to try and undercut Tesco, they need to offer far better deals than just £9.

Remember, I've been "behind the scenes" in most supermarkets. I've seen the crap posted all over the walls in both Sainsbury's and Tesco. Sainsbury's wants its customers back and is trying hard to get them. The general consensus of opinion is that Tesco is far too big now, the result of which are the problems we're seeing. Asda's staff motivational posters are quite funny, I must admit. Sainsbury's wants its numero uno position back. I still find it more expensive than Tesco most of the time. I also think they need to dump the orange - it's so 70s!
Incidentally, to the person going on about people taking back tins of QS, I can confirm that it is absolute crap. I was "behind the scenes" at a local Tesco on Friday. There was nothing on HOST about banning people for returning QS (a member of staff was checking something out for me), nor were there any notices up about it. Another thing to note is that there were no photos of persistent R&Rers, let alone any information posted up about them. This particular store is R&Red by members of this site, as I have seen it mentioned.
I had fun informing Sainsbury's staff about Tesco's R&R policy. They weren't aware of it. In fact, they weren't aware that Sainsbury's used to have the same policy! In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Roger_Rampant wrote:I have been asked by a middle-aged female Tesco cashier to agree with you that they are far more vigilant about these things, this is because they are longterm employees of Tesco. They know that if you allow these breaches of store policy to go through regularly you are hauled off upstairs and told off about it, after being halued off upstairs about five times you are sacked. Most of the lads and young ladies don't last more than 6 months
I would be extremely surprised if Tesco management were that efficient
Another load of bunkem...hauled off upstairs for a chat.....about what precisely??
Like any other employer, there is employment law that must be followed and dismissal after a "chat" or 5 simply isnt legal let alone realistic. Disciplinary procedures are there for a reason.
As for the most young lads and ladies dont last 6 months, i'd love to see the figures supporting this....Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
I don't exist, it is merely your imagination.
