Just found a 3 disc dvd set BIN 99p postage £7.49 seller has more than 1 copy and when you click the BIN it says at bottom £1 p&p for additional items, by my calculation buying 2 copies should make total £10.47, just to be sure I asked for total cost for buying 2 copies and was told it would be £16.98. Isn't this a bit misleading as they are still charging 7.49 postage for both:mad:
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

yep, and you can report them for misleading information.
Also for fee avoidance (excessive postage)It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
I just purchased them to see what happened, total via paypal came up as £10.47. Am going to see if he sends them as am happy to pay £10.47 for 2 copies even though the initial postage of £7.49 is extortionate. If they request more money then I will report them.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Have just received an email from the seller.
"you have brought both of thease you know that you have not paid enough "
(not my spelling errors).
I sent the following email back :-
Hi
I bought both via paypal, and that is the total that came up through paypal. Your auctions do actually state that additional items are purchased at £1.00 extra P&P. If you are unable to fulfill the order under the terms of ebay, please let me know.
Regards
Becky
To which he responded within seconds with :-
"hi sorry am not here soon as i get back i will responed" (again not my spelling errors).
What next?I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

wait and see, and then if he wants more then report him.

He just sent me this:-
"the price for is 99p the reason it is done like the to aviod the high charges of ebay that why i set the postage price so high to cover the cost of the dvds i told you the toatal price for both"
I have responded with:-
Hi
Could you just confirm if you will be sending the items I paid for.
Kind Regards
Becky
It will be worth the £10 to have him removed, I think I have him by the short and curlies with his email!I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Has just sent me this:-
"yes i can confirm i will send you the1 item not both of them sure ebay will agree i have made an error in the listin but if you disgree with this i will start a dispute so both of use dont have to go through with the sale cuse you have paid i will refuned you but is you still want one i will send you back 99p,
please advise what you would like to do."
How should I proceed? All his currently offered items state £1.00 P&P for additional items purchased, so it clearly isn't a listing error. Should I threaten to report him and hope he sends both items. Or ask for a full refund and then report him for fee avoidance and misleading advertisement? Am quite enjoying this! What a way to spend a day off!!I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

There is another side to this. I fully agree with 'excessive' postage on Ebay. It allows sellers to pay less fees and buyers effectively benefit from the lower costs.
It's not as if the seller is not being upfront about exactly how much you need to pay. Unless you believe that EBay (an effective monopoly) charge reasonable fees then I suggest you give this seller a break.0 -

Well, that's a great theory, until there's a problem with your 5p item and the seller isn't obliged to refund the £29.95 you paid for postage.
Also, pray point me in the direction of a venue where I can sell cheaper? My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

His auctions actually state £1.00 postage for each additional item purchased, but he wants a further 7.49 postage for the additional item:eek:I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
