You don't think that one of the reasons that people shop at Tescos, say rather than Adsa, is because of clubcard points?
Do you want to tell Mr Tesco he has got it wrong!?
Ha ha, that's not what I said. That is the way that loyalty schemes work."The most desirable trait of the internet is the ability to attribute quotes to anyone."

I've found Pizza Express a bit hit and miss, the food is usually nice although a bit expensive for what it is, and service is very variable. Last time I went we were sat 15 minutes without anyone taking our order so we walked out. This was in meadowhall.0

That's a nice thing to do! You'll have made their day! Do you also tip hairdressers or delivery drivers? How about postmen at Christmas? How about bin collectors?
I just think we're rather arbitary about who we 'should' tip, and who we shouldn't. Why not tip a traffic warden? I'll bet you have a discussion with one who you meet ticketing your car, and hey, he's just doing his job much like a waitress.
I tip my hairdresser as she spends a lot of time on my hair and the price I pay I feel is very reasonable.
I also tip delivery drivers (takeaway etc) My OH worked as a delivery driver for a little extra cash and what people dont realize is most of these places pay very little (NMW) and nothing towards the petrol so the tips contribute towards petrol cost.
My postman is lovely and if I see him before christmas time I will give him a small amount of money after all he walks around delivering my post in the rain for me!
Where i work we are not allowed to accept tips or gifts etc as it could be seen as being trying to be bought for one side but I do have people who when they have got the result they wanted ask if they can send me some flowers or chocolates, I always ask them to write a nice letter and send it my manager to go on file:D:D

I shop at Tesco because my local asda is a 30 minute driveaway
I also shop at tesco over my local sainsburys because its cheaper, i find their fresh food last longer, its nearer to my home.
I also have a nectar card which I use on the odd occasion I do go to sainsburys
the clubcard has nothing to do with me shopping at Tesco, I go there because I prefer it to the other supermarkets on offer - If there was an asda in the town I live I would more than likely shop in Asda because I would save more money and they do a lot of home range that I like. I also like morrisons but again dont have one local that I could do my weekly shop in.
The clubcard vouchers I get every three months allow me to have a meal out with my OH every month for free but they dont keep me shopping in tesco!0 -
The PE off Kensington High Street is excellent and love going there. However, at Christmas we went to one in Hereford and half the restuarant was empty and everyone appeared to be seated at the far end, I counted at least 40 chairs that were empty so imagine our surprise when they told us it would be 20 mins before order taken and a possible 40 mins before being served! There seemed to be alot of staff running around but I wish they hadnt opened a rather enormous PE without enough staff to service it. Needless to say we left along with at least 20 other people queuing out of the door when they heard how long it would all take.0

But they do make some shoppers choose Tesco.
Otherwise Tesco wouldn't do them.0 -

Me and my mate went to Pizza express in Salford Quays both had a pizza and a drink each, came to £25.90 paid £20 in rewards and £5.90 in cash. The pizzas we had were excellent. We only waited ten minutes from when we ordered them, loads of toppings. The service we had was also excellent. Just wish i had kept the recipt so i could ring them up.
Nice to go out and have something to eat. Paying by vouchers was so easy and no fuss.
Pizza express have won me over even with out the vouchers i will go there.
How about leaving feed back on their website instead?

I agree tipping is nice, if you can afford itbut failing that a good review is the next best thing.
If you can remember who served you mentioning a name or describing the person may mean that the feedback will actually to the person that deserves it.
I've got no ties to Pizza Express by the way0 -
I do not know why anyone buys from companies like this when you can make better and more filling pizzas to feed 4 for around £1 !0

Seriously?? Because having a meal is not just about putting food in your mouth...it's not always about feeding the most people for the least money...
It's about the experience of being out, the atmosphere, the being served instead of cooking yourself, the fact you can have things you don't normally cook and/or can't cook? Seriously...it's the whole point of restaurants... I don't mean to be rude, but personally as long as I have the money for it, I would have a Pizza Express pizza any time over anyone's home-made £1 pizza. Not saying it wouldn't be nice, but it certainly wouldn't be as much of a treat.0
